VIOLET 3
I am exhausted, all my energy has been drained while trying to keep an eye on Tal. The pull that I feel towards him is uncanny, it’s as if every fibre of my being is magnetised and is being pulled towards him. I know that he felt my presence and that what he felt has him uncertain about where the sensations are coming from. I feel the need to be with him, to make sure that he is okay. I would still be hovering around his energy if only Zane hadn’t forced my hand.
“What the fuck?” I hear Zane’s low growl close to me, “What were you playing at?” I know that he’s only upset because he worries about me, but this was stronger than me. Opening my eyes, I see him standing over me like a dark angel about to pounce.
“I wanted to make sure” I murmur knowing that what I just said won’t make any sense to him.
“Make sure about what?” Zane asks as he throws up his hands, “You found him, I followed your energy and now know where he is.” At his words I suddenly tense as I snap up.
“Why are you still here, why haven’t you gone after him?” I ask urgently thinking about the feelings of pain and fury that filled Tal. Zane frowns as he takes a step towards me, bending down at the hips to be at eye level with me.
“Maybe because it’s not that easy,” he grunts in annoyance as he looks intensely into my eyes. “What’s wrong with you?” he suddenly asks
“What do you mean?” I say with a shrug turning my eyes away from him so that he can’t see the lie in them.
“Violet?” he calls with concern in his voice, but I raise my hand waiving his concern away, not wanting to talk about something which I’m not sure about yet.
“Why isn’t it that easy? I thought you guys were all powerful” I say with a teasing tone trying to distract him from his concern.
“They have him underground, I don’t exactly know where as I wasn’t able to penetrate the facility without raising suspicion as they seem to have every type of sensor available to man installed, but I sensed his presence.”
“You need to hurry up Zane, he’s in pain.” I state anxiously as the pretence of jovialness is gone, a feeling of desperation for Tal that I have never felt before for any of the others I have tracked before fills all my senses. Zane’s intense eyes not missing anything as he shakes his head.
“Don’t think you will get away with not telling me what the fuck is going on, when this is over, we will get to the bottom of what happened today,” I sigh at his insistence, but nod to try and appease him.
“Fine, now can we please go and find him?” he shakes his head at me.
“You not going anywhere.” His statement has me tensing, and even though I can still feel my legs shaking, and my body trembling in weakness I stand. I immediately regret it as I feel myself start to sway.
“Were you really going to argue with me in this state?” Zane grunts in annoyance as his hand tightens around my upper arm as he gently pushes me back onto the bed. “Rest, I am going to go and inform the others of what we have found, once I have any news I will be back.” I open my mouth to argue but he growls in anger as he shakes his head. Snapping around he walks away from me, out through the bedroom door and down the corridor. I close my eyes, my heart is still racing, my body is trembling but there is a warmth filling every fibre of my being. I feel weak, weaker than I have ever felt before, but I know it’s because I overdid the time I was with Tal. I know from what Zane has told me before about mates that Tal is my mate, I also know that if I stay here and Tal has the chance to bond with me, I will never be able to leave.
To be honest I already don’t want to leave, but I know that it would be unfair on Tal of me staying here. I am emotionally damaged, what could he ever want with a woman that can never give one hundred percent of herself? I can’t trust a man enough to be in a relationship with someone that sooner or later is bound to hurt me.
I know that Zane says that once an Elemental man finds his mate, he is bound to her for life, that he is dedicated and lives only for her. I know for a fact that he believes in that, but I can’t believe that they are all like that, I can’t trust Tal to one day turn around and say that he has had enough of me, and I must leave, or worse. I shake my head at the thoughts racing through my mind, what if he doesn’t get rid of me, but wants to live a life where he is able to see another woman.
I huff in annoyance snapping my eyes open to try and stop the thoughts only to tense as I see the man standing in the doorway looking at me. He is a giant of a man, his hair pulled back into a man bun, his muscular arms crossed as he leans against the door frame.
“Are you okay?” his question has me frowning, why would he care how I’m feeling?
“Yes, thank you” I reply hoping that he will leave me alone. I don’t like the presence of men too close to me.
“Zane says that you found Tal?” his question has me nodding reluctantly.
“How did you do it?” I can see the inquisitiveness in his expression.
“Who are you?” I ask instead of answering his question which has his eyebrows rising and his lips kicking up in a smile. He nods as if only now realizing that he didn’t introduce himself yet.
“I am Bion, most people know me as the healer for the Elementals MC” he replies not moving from his stance against the doorframe. I have heard about him before; Zane has mentioned that there is no healer more dedicated and knowledgeable then Bion. If I’m not mistaken, he also said that Bion belongs to the mother chapter.
“Yes, Zane has mentioned you before.” My reply has him raising a brow, “he’s not as irresponsible as everyone thinks he is.” I defend knowing what everyone thinks of Zane.
“It’s not about him being irresponsible, there is a lot of history which you might not be aware of.” Bion states and then shrugs, “but that’s not the topic here, you are sidestepping.” He says with a smile, a smile that has him looking innocent, but I know better than that, I know that an Elemental will never be innocent as they have lived too many years to not have to retaliate against something at some point in time.
“Why do…” I start to say only to stop when Bion suddenly turns.
“Beauty, I’m here.” Bion calls, he raises his hand out to a woman that is walking towards him, a radiant smile on her face. When I look back at Bion I see such a loving look on his face that I have no doubt that this woman must be his mate. “Why aren’t you resting?” he asks as he strokes her cheek gently.
“I have rested enough; besides I was curious too, do you think you the only one?” at the woman’s comment he grins.
