The drum from the motor beats through my body like the staccato changing of the gears until I am one with my ride. The wind blowing around me until it feels like there is no one around but me. My thoughts are on Siena and the trauma that she has gone through. It’s unfair that evil has touched her so often, all because she is my mate.
I slide to a halt before the club. Jumping off my bike as I make my way inside, I see the two prospects near the entrance washing a stain of blood on the ground, but I don’t stop to ask questions. There will be enough time for that later For now, I just need to see my woman—feel her and make sure that she is fine.
My instinct guides me, taking me to Tor’s room. It makes sense that they be in here since it’s the safest room in the club. Tor’s room is like a safe room. There won’t be any human that can enter the room unless they know the location of the tunnel. But through all these years that we have been living here, it hasn’t been breached, and no one knows about the tunnel except some of the brothers.
Just as I am about to bang on the door, the handle turns, and it shoots open. Ulrich is stepping in and pulling Anastasia into a bear hug before she realizes what is happening.
“Eirik!”
Siena’s gasp of surprise when she sees me is the best sound I could ever have heard. Reaching for her, I pull her hard against me. Her arms snap around my neck as I lower my head to take her lips in a blistering kiss.
I sense the others moving around, but I don’t break this hypnotic moment with my woman until a few minutes later when she reluctantly pulls back. “You’re back,” she whispers as her hand moves down over my neck, to my chest and my stomach.
“Are you okay?” I ask, looking deeply into her eyes to see her reaction. A slow smile spreads across her face as she looks back at me.
“I am now,” she whispers. “Are you all back?”
Her question has my mind going back to the fact that Tal is missing. “No, Tal is missing.”
My statement has her gasping and her body tensing. “What happened?”
At any other time I would have sidestepped this question to not upset her, but they attacked the club too. They could have harmed any one of the women. It is time that everyone be aware of what is happening and keep safe. Therefore, I find myself relating the events of earlier today to her, which have her gasping, her eyes widening, when I explain that we were ambushed and that we think this was a setup.
“Someone came and tried the door earlier,” Siena mentions when I am finished. “We all thought it was really strange because they did not answer when we asked who was there.”
Her revelation has me tensing as I glance over my shoulder at Ulrich, that is hugging his woman close. I see that Esmeralda and Freya have left while we were hugging, probably telling their men what happened.
“Maybe just one of the guys making sure that you were all safe, but we will find out who it was so that we can calm your mind,” I promise, also wanting to know who would have come to Tor’s room just as we are attacked.
“Fuck, did they touch any of you?” I hear Ulrich’s rumble.
“No, they came in through the back, but little did they know that we have our very own taser in the house.” Anastasia's words have me frowning and by Ulrich’s question I’m guessing him too.
“Taser?”
“Yeah, Siena put them down. When Dag went to tie them up, they were still letting out current.” I look back at Siena, only to see her smiling at Anastasia as she shakes her head in amusement.
“You shocked them?” I ask, looking over her body again to make sure that she is fine.
“Well, they were coming directly at Esmeralda and I, and there was no one else around.” Her eyes are intense now as she looks at me. “I am never going to let someone else take me against my will if I can help it.”
“I’m sorry I wasn’t here,” I say as I pull her close again. I hate the fact that she had to defend herself and that I wasn’t here to protect her.
“So, we have two prisoners that you caught?” Ulrich states, shaking his head, which has Anastasia slapping his stomach lightly.
“See, we aren’t powerless after all,” she quips.
“Baby, I never thought you were powerless, I have evidence that you can freeze someone right to their bones.” What Ulrich says is true, Anastasia has one wicked gift of freezing whatever she wants. When I first saw her doing it, I was impressed to see how effortlessly she can freeze an area solid.
“Except you,” she murmurs with a shrug.
“Baby, you stiffen my bone all the time,” he jokes, which has her slapping his stomach again and laughing.
“You perv, shhh,” she whispers.
“Will you help us push that chair back into place?” Siena asks, suddenly pointing at Tor’s throne, looking at the scuff marks on the floor I’m surprised to see that the women moved it.
“Why were you moving his throne?” I ask with a raised brow.
