Chapter Eight
Waking up alonein bed the next morning, it took every ounce of Fallon’s self-control to keep from slapping her palm against her forehead. What on earth was she thinking, getting involved with two men she’d only met a few hours earlier?Sure, they’d been personally selected by Lilly West and her sons, and in Fallon’s estimation, recommendations didn’t come any higher, but still. At this point, she didn’t trust her own judgment.Fucking hell, maybe it was smarter to rely on Lilly’s.
She silently vowed to enjoy what they offered and learn everything she could during the short time she was here.As soon as she found a pharmacy position, Fallon would rent a small apartment and start over.Damn, it pissed her off to think about all the money she’d lost leaving so suddenly.Hopefully, her landlord would forward her security deposit, and her former employer would send her last paycheck—although since Hagan’s family owned the chain of stores she’d worked for, it didn’t seem likely.
Letting Silas and Carson know she was interested didn’t mean she wanted a full-blown relationship, damn it.She had as much right as anyone else to play a little without thinking it would last forever.Since she’d worked her ass off during college, Fallon missed all the wild parties and opportunities for one-night stands her friends experienced.Hagan called her a dick tease, a description she didn’t feel she’d earned. After all, there had to be other women who flirted without bedding every man they encountered.
She’d been introduced to several men and seen countless others this evening, but none of them had interested her beyond wondering what they did for a living or how they fit into the hierarchy of the club. The two men who had been standing in front of her were entirely different. She’d felt electricity pulse between herself and Silas from the moment she looked into his eyes on the side of the road.Carson provided another surge of unexplained heat, and she’d wondered if her soul had recognized them when her head knew they were strangers.
Sitting up, Fallon noticed a folded sheet of paper on the nightstand with her name printed in neatly penned block letters on the front.Opening it, she forced the sleep from her eyes, trying to focus on the writing.
Hope you caught up on a bit of rest.Take your time getting ready for the day. We’re looking forward to showing you around, but we needed to take care of a few things at work.Wear what is set out on the bathroom counter—nothing more, nothing less.S & C
Getting to her feet, Fallon was shocked to see the sun had not only risen, but it was also already high enough to be casting a long shadow under the eaves.Damn, what the hell time is it, anyway?Looking around the room for a clock, she wondered how anyone knew what time it was. She’d heard the pace of life in Texas was slower, but people still needed alarm clocks.Moving around the room, she grinned when she noticed a pillow propped in front of a large clock radio.Someone had gone to a lot of effort to make certain she wouldn’t be embarrassed by how long she’d slept.
Ha!Shows what they know.I never apologize for sleeping.Hell, a good night’s sleep is a gift from the angels.Being able to escape into sleep helped save my sanity after my parents died.
Taking care of business, then hopping in the shower, she hadn’t taken time to check out the clothing on the counter until she’d dried her hair.Holding up the skimpy piece of fabric some designer probably called a dress, Fallon chuckled. If she sneezed, she was definitely going to flash anyone paying attention, and heaven forbid if there was a breeze.
“Crap, it’s windy in Texas, right?”Checking the floor before rechecking the expansive countertop, she wondered where they’d left her bra and panties.
Fallon was so lost in her own thoughts she didn’t register Silas moving until his palm covered hers to pull the flimsy dress out of her hand. The warmth of his other hand settled over the cool skin of her ass cheek, a heartbeat before a heated slap sent a rush of heat through her entire body. She wasn’t sure what she’d done wrong, and judging by her body’s reaction, he would likely need to find another form of punishment.Lifting her gaze to meet his in the mirror, she raised a brow in question but didn’t speak the question aloud.
“Much better.Another important rule of any D/s dynamic is safety, which includes situational awareness. You had no idea I was anywhere nearby. What if I’d been an intruder?Dominants are selfish bastards. Not only do we believe your full attention is our due, we also want you safe at all times and will go to great lengths to make sure you learn the lesson.Until we gain your compliance, there will be consequences.”
“Sometimes Silas’ hippy psycho-babble background bubbles up to the surface, making it easy to get lost in the word salad.”Carson was leaning against the door jamb, arms crossed over his chest with one leg propped casually in front of the other.
Damn, the man should be gracing the covers of magazines. He watched as her gaze moved to his bare forearms, the long sleeves of his Oxford shirt rolled up to reveal a hint of the ink she’d traced with the tip of her tongue last night. The rogue gave her a conspiratorial grin.
“It boils down to this.Pay attention.Daydreaming can cause too many problems to get into right now. You’re a smart woman, so it won’t take you long to sort it out.”
After what she’d seen downstairs the night before, it wasn’t difficult to see why it was important for all participants in a scene to remain focused.
“You experienced one of the advantages of a ménage last night.Having two men whose sole purpose is your pleasure guarantees you’ll have very little time to become distracted. We’ll make it our mission to keep you in the moment, but learning to be situationally aware is on you.We can give you pointers, but ultimately, you’ll need to stay alert.”
Silas still had his hand under her dress, the warmth of his hand pressed against her stinging cheek letting the heat sink all the way to her core.He was watching her closely, and Fallon squirmed at the intensity of his gaze.
“You’re so responsive, sweetheart.A simple touch makes your pupils dilate until there is nothing left but the thinnest ring of color.”
“Let’s remind you how sweet it is to be touched by two men.”Carson moved to her side and slipped his hand under the hem, his fingertips brushing over the top of her mound.Fallon’s knees threatened to fold out from under her, and the slightest sway was enough to have the men close the space between them.“Your responses are perfect.Having you naked between us is something we’ll always look forward to.Your pulse is pounding at the base of your neck, and your respiration has kicked up.Fucking perfect. If we don’t get out of here now, we won’t get out of this apartment until it’s time for you to go to work.”
Fallon wasn’t sure what was the most potent—their words or touch. The surge of heat moving through her settled between her thighs, and she hoped they didn’t notice the moisture coating the sensitive folds of her pussy.Damn, if they didn’t move things along, it was going to trickle down her leg, and she would die of mortification. She could see the headline now:Newly Hired Bartender at Local Kink Club Expires from Wet Pussy Embarrassment.
“Wet pussy embarrassment?I’m not sure I’ve ever heard of that particular affliction. Why would you be embarrassed by something we consider a goal? Now, let’s switch gears and move downstairs. We’ll take a walk around the grounds to make certain you know all the security features of the property. We’ve ordered a late lunch and will eat by the pool. You’ll still have time to rest before your shift tonight.Tobi and Lilly are out for the day, so we won’t worry about anyone dropping by the pool.”
Fallon was having trouble tracking the conversation with their devious fingers dancing over her bare skin.Damn, I knew this dress was too short.
“I agree, and as much as I’ve enjoyed the view of your rosy nipples peaking beneath the silky fabric, I think it will look even better on the pool deck.Let’s go, Cher.”
An hour later, Fallon walked through an ornate gate leading to one of the most beautiful pool areas she’d ever seen. She gasped, making both men chuckle in response.
“The rest of the property is beautiful, and the landscaping looks like something you’d see in a magazine, but it was easy to see every detail was dictated by security.I’m looking forward to seeing what it looks like at night with all the pretty lights no one thought I noticed.”
Both men laughed as they led her to a table nestled against a sky-high hedge. The salad luncheon was perfect after they’d walked so far in the oppressive heat. She might have started out frustrated about the skimpy dress, but it didn’t take her long to appreciate their foresight.
“Oh, I forgot to thank you for the sneakers.”She’d been surprised to discover they had a pair of comfortable shoes for her to wear.
“Darlin’, your shoes weren’t suited for what we planned.I admit they aren’t the most fashionable footwear available, but comfort is the name of the game when you’re slated to be on your feet most of the night.”
