Chapter Six

____________

Jag

The sound of the door latch clicking has my eyes springing open. I'm shocked I went to sleep but cuddling up to Milly put me out. I look to the door to find out who’s coming into our room and spot Tinsley pushing the door open further. I take stock on how both me and Milly look to make sure nothing is in view that shouldn't be.

Milly's leg is thrown over the cover and her nightdress has ridden up on her thighs. She's snuggled up in my arms with me right behind her. I reach around to pull the front hem of her gown a little further down. The movement must alert Tinsley to the fact that I'm awake.

She has a look of utter shock on her face when the hall light casts enough of a glow on the bed for her to see us. She thought I would be in the other bed and if fate hadn't been smiling on me tonight in the form of a busted generator and a noisy friend I would have. I have no doubt Tinsley would have slid right in if she'd found me alone.

"What the hell, are you...with her?"

I can see how it might look like I'm buried ten inches in from how close we are and how far up Milly's dress has ridden. Hell, it probably looks suspicious as fuck that I reached around and pulled her dress down like I was trying to hide us being connected.

"You should leave."

She still stands there. "Her? How could you ch...?"

"It's done." If she wakes Milly up and I have to go back to the empty bed right beside the one with Milly in it, I might lose my mind and use my gun on her. "Leave. You do not want to make an enemy out of me, Tinsley."

She lets out a huff before shutting the door back. It's loud enough to wake Milly. She sleepily mumbles, "Is everything okay, Jag?"

"It is sweetness. Go back to bed." I wait tensely to see if she finds sleep again. To my relief she does and I get to snuggle back up with her.

I'm not stupid, I make sure I'm gone before she wakes up so there are no awkward morning-after regrets. I have plans and they all include getting Milly to let me share her bed the entire time we’re here and beyond that. This thing with Milly - I want it to go on a fuck of a lot longer than just one silly weekend. I want this to last forever.

As I said, I'm not stupid. I understand that putting that all out on the table would send a girl like Milly running. It's not just her shyness. It's also the fact I don't think she's had a lot of boyfriends. I need to find Rani and ask her some questions about my little angel.

I hurry through a shower and a shave before purposely putting the sweater on that Milly wore last night. The fucking thing smells like her, and I have to admit it's like walking around with an aphrodisiac wrapped around my body all day long. I don't know how I'm going to make it but there’s no way I'm not going to try.

I head off to find out if Rani and Charlie are up yet. Their room is empty, so I make my way down to the kitchen to look there. Before I make it all the way in, Rani pulls me off to the side.

"Listen, there’s not a lot of time. Some shit went down this morning before you and Milly got up but don't worry, I got your all's back. I just want to know one thing - are you just fucking with her or is this serious?"

"Rani, don't take this the wrong way, but what’s between me and Milly is between me and Milly. If she wants to tell you anything she can."

She pats my cheek, "Good, good. I thought so. I interrogated Charlie about it already and he said you aren't someone who fuck's around. Okay, good talk."

Before I can ask her anything else she's vanished through the door leading to the kitchen and living room area, but her words linger with me. Some shit has gone down. What exactly does that mean and do I need to be pissed already?
