I couldn’t bear to hear it. If it was a mistake, I didn’t want to hear it when I was feeling so open and vulnerable.

“I should go. I will see you soon.” I forced a smile and moved to get my bag and get out of the room, away from him and his intense gaze as far as I could.

A warm hand closed around my wrist, pulling me back. My lips parted when he cupped my cheek and kissed me softly. The kiss was so gentle that I all but melted into a puddle, warm butterflies flapping around in my stomach as his lips moved against mine.

His hot breath fanned across my cheek when he pulled back and gazed at me with his dark, stormy eyes. “I don’t regret anything that we did, Petal. It wasn’t a silly, horny mistake. I wanted it. I wanted you.” His thumb caressed my cheek. “I want you, Ivy. If… if you have any concerns, we will talk about it. We have to talk about it. But not here.”

I was blinking at him in shock, surprise and relief when he stepped back, lifted my hand to his face and kissed my knuckles. “We will talk when I get back home, okay?”

I nodded shakily. I wasn’t sure that anything was real. He had erased all my confusion and guilt by communicating his wants and needs, assuring me he wanted me.Holy shit. Aiden wanted me. My childhood crush wanted me.Eeeeeppp!

His gaze turned darker as he said in his velvety voice, “Use your mouth, Ivy, and answer me.”

I tipped on my toes and pressed my lips against his cheek. I beamed at him, “I will make your favorite key lime pie and we will talk.”

An expression of odd surprise flickered through his face. “Keep doing your daily homework, but write another fantasy with it.”

I blinked and nodded as he lightly smacked my ass. “See you at home, Petal.”
