“Ma, what have you gone and done?”
Aurora grins and gives James a hug.
“James, I’m so proud of Alexa coming into our family and I’m so proud of you, I was desperate to share that joy.”
James sighs and hugs his mother back. He turns to me.
“Is this alright with you?”
I think for a moment.
“Do you think these guys can keep a secret?” I ask.
Aurora lets go of James and puts an arm around me.
“NDA’s are filled out and in my secret files for safe-keeping. If anyone talks, there’ll be big consequences.”
We both laugh and exchange hugs.
Then a string quartet starts playing signaling it’s time for our wedding.
“I’ll meet you up there,” I say.
James kisses me on the cheek.
“Hey, that’s bad luck.” I say.
James shakes his head and grins at me.
“Baby, our love together is so powerful, no bad luck will ever dare to cross it.”
Then James walks down the aisle to the gorgeous altar that Aurora designed for us.
I’m breathless due to what James has told me. There is not a woman that’s luckier than me. I take a deep breath and open up my pocketbook.
I take out Mattheo’s wedding ring that I have placed on a chain and put my pocketbook down so that I can clip the chain shut. Even though he isn’t here, I want Mattheo to be a part of this ceremony.
The string quartet begins to play Pachelbel’s Cannon, and that’s my cue to begin the walk towards a future that holds adventure and so much love. My heart feels like it’ll burst from so much happiness.
Not one but two men to love me forever. This is the beginning of my own personal fairytale. I walk towards it with dignity and not one ounce of fear.
