We sit and think for a while. All I can think of is flowers and candy.
“Logan, what if we just support the decision that she’s made.”
“It was pretty hurtful Sean, the way we just made it sound so casual that she come work for us.”
“The way she had to get away from us and take that walk. It didn’t feel good.”
“I know, it just about broke my heart. That’s why I wanted to take her to bed. Give her a little workout and a big boost in the love and support column.”
“Logan, sex doesn’t solve anything like this.”
“Want to bet?”
I shake my head. Logan just doesn’t get it.
“Women are different now Logan. They have ambition and desires that go way beyond sex.”
“But what could be better than sex, Sean?”
We both sit and think about this for a while. Then I come up with what I think is the answer.
“Commitment Logan. That’s what women want.”
“How do you know?”
“Read a Cosmo sometimes!”
“Cosmo?”
“Cosmopolitan Magazine, you dope.”
Logan shrugs his shoulders. He still doesn’t know what I’m talking about.
“But I thought the last thing that she would want is marriage. I mean since she wants to be an executive and all.”
“Logan, we have a lot to figure out, my man.”
“We sure do.”
I get up and start collecting our latte cups, tossing them in the trash. I see Logan open up his tablet.
“What are you doing Logan?”
“Research.”
I like the sound of that and take out my iPad. I go sit back down in the chair opposite of Logan. He’s going to need someone to explain what he finds. It’s a good thing we’re a team. I love this lovable brilliant dope.
