I drop to my knees beside them. Both Emma and Luke are staring at me with sympathetic expressions.
“I want to be with you.”
My voice is a whisper.
Neither of them says a thing. Instead, Emma cups my cheek the same way I do hers. She looks deep into my eyes. She doesn’t need to use her words to tell me she’ll never let me go. That’s something I love about her. I just know it.
She lays a gentle kiss on my cheek and Luke does the same.
They’re welcoming me.
“Can I come back?”
Emma’s air turns coy.
“I don’t know,” she says.
My heart skips a beat and even Luke releases the tiniest gasp. Emma turns her face to him with a smile.
“Luke, what do you think? Can he come back?”
“Gosh, he’s already left us once. Who’s to say he won’t do it again?”
Their tones are obvious, because they know I just said my heart on the line and a twisted part of me is glad they’re already back to messing with me. The other part is not amused.
I cross my arms at the bottom of my shirt and pull it up, over my head, slowly. I tease them for only a second before I fling my shirt across the room.
“I think I should make you two pay for that dirty little joke.”
Their eyes trickle down my chest and abs, exciting me. Emma smiles and bites her lip.
“Well, when you put it that way, I guess you can stay.”
