“Hope, baby, are you going to introduce me to the rest of your family?” He held his hand out to her.
He saw her mother raise her eyebrows as Hope took his hand.
“Mama and Angelica, this is Blake, my…”
“Fiancé,” Blake said.
Her brows creased together, and her lips turned down. “I…”
Even though Blake could see her mother’s surprise, she was experienced enough not to show it. “Blake, it’s a pleasure to meet you. My name is Aria.”
He shook her hand. “It’s nice to meet you.”
“So, this is a little sudden, isn’t it?” Aria asked.
Blake held his hand up when Hope opened her mouth. “I need to talk to Hope for a moment. We’ll be right back.” He pulled Hope behind him until they found a room with some privacy.
“What’s wrong?” Hope asked.
He pinned her against the wall and cupped her face. “I want you to tell your mother that you can’t wait to marry me.”
“But we’re not in danger any longer. Can’t we wait?”
“No. You’ll be my wife by the end of the day.”
“Wait.” Hope’s mouth fell open. “That’s too soon.”
“The girls will make it special, and now you’ll be able to have your whole family here.”
“Blake…”
“Let me put it this way, if you don’t convince your mom you can’t wait, I’ll announce to the group that I probably impregnated you last night.”
She gasped. “You wouldn’t dare.”
“Try me.”
