His official two years of deployment was over, but he had yet to decide if he would make the military his career.

With his brothers running Tapt Oyer Global as CEO and COO, he wasn't sure he was needed at the company at all. Wasn't sure he wanted to work there.

Two years ago, the concept of wanting to work someplace would never have occurred to him. That was before he'd seen death the way he had in the last two years. Up close and personal. The concept of blind duty in the face of the ephemeral nature of life did not gel.

He owed it to all the soldiers that fought for freedom to live free.

While Tor had no intention of dismissing duty as unimportant, neither would he allow the perception of his duty to the Crown dictate his every life choice.

Tradition dictated that Tor take an active role in the military, eventually taking his rightful role as the Commander in General. He was sure everyone expected him to do exactly that.

But he wasn't making any decisions about his future without talking to the woman he planned to make that future with.

Blythe was supposed to be at the palace when he arrived. He would have liked her to be at the airport to meet him, if only so they could have a moment of privacy now rather than later.

Though he was pleased no one else, besides the security team he would have to grow accustomed to again, was there to accompany him to the palace. Tor was glad to be home, but he wasn't looking forward to having to interact with people once he reached the palace.

The last two ops had been harsh.

Tor slid into the back seat of the SUV that would take him to the palace, his thoughts centering on Blythe, as they often did.

Too many nights, his very sanity had seemed to hinge on the image of her smile he kept forefront in his mind.

His lover and closest friend was still set on secrecy.

Tor was done with hiding however.

He'd given her time to get used to his life, to come to terms with telling Janice. Now his war zone deployment was over, Tor was done waiting.

He was ready to embark on the rest of their life together.

He was ready to go to bed every night with his woman and wake up every morning next to her. Tor wanted a family, children like his precious nephew and newborn niece.
