Moira took her arm, and they exited the pew. Unable to stop myself, I made to follow, but the witch shot me a look. “Leave her alone. She’s not feeling good. I’ll take care of her. You three figure your shit out, will ya?”

Chastened, I forced myself to let them leave. I needed time with the wolf anyway.

Father Gallagher finally released him once the women were gone. Kingston straightened his shirt, throwing us both a dark look.

“I don’t know what crawled up your asses, but you can stop looking at me like that. You heard her. It was consensual.”

“Coercion isn’t consent.”

“She wasn’t complaining when I made her come on my cock repeatedly.”

The priest glared at him. “Technicalities won’t save you in the eyes of the Lord.”

“Good thing I don’t care about what he thinks.”

I stepped forward. “Maybe you’ll care about what my fist thinks.” I let my fist fly into his face, breaking his nose and sending blood spraying everywhere. “You take advantage of her again, dog, and I will rip your spine free of your body and hang you with it. Do you understand me? Mated or not, you will not abuse her.”

Kingston spat blood on the stone floor of the church, his eyes blazing. “I’d never hurt her.”

“You call that wound on her necknothurting her?”

“I gave her what she wanted. What she needed. She finally shifted, for fuck’s sake. Her wolf needed me. But I agree, something is off with her. It might have to do with the fact that I put my mark over Thorne’s.”

“Thorne marked her too?” I asked, but Father Gallagher seemed unfazed, like he somehow knew.

“The fanged fuck should’ve known better. He could’ve chosen anywhere else on her body. He had to put it on the spot used by shifters. He was trying to make a point.”

“Maybe so, but he didn’t try to rip her throat out while doing it. What’s your excuse?”

“I didn’t. She’s fine.”

“She is not.”

“Enough. You two are worse than a couple of children in a pissing match. I need to do some research on this. You’re both going to steer clear of her until we figure out why she’s ill.” Father Gallagher stared daggers at us as he spoke.

“You can’t keep me from her. She’s mine. I claimed her.” Kingston’s words were a low snarl.

“I’ll tell you one final time, Farrell. Do not push me. She is sick, and it’s your doing. Until I find the cure, you will not touch her. If you’d like to keep your prick where it is, you’ll keep it out of her.”

Kingston bared his teeth but didn’t speak. I could already tell he was planning on going against the priest’s edict, which meant the wolf had just earned himself a place at the top of my shit list. If he so much as set foot near Sunday right now, I’d rip his head off and put it on a pike outside my door as a warning to anyone who had a similar plan.

It seemed like the people of Ravenscroft didn’t understand who they were dealing with.

But they were about to.
