My blood simmered, but I’d be lying if I said it was with anger. The fucking fuck.
“Listen to me very closely, Kingston—”
“You called me your king last night,” he said in a low, seductive purr. “Do you know how hard that makes me?”
More flutters. I really needed to have a talk with my vagina. This was getting ridiculous.Focus, Fallon.
“I live with Moira. That is not going to change. She’s my person. She keeps me sane. You should be nicer to her because she keeps me from killing you. In fact, you shouldwantme to live with her. But I don’t really care what you want, because it’s whatIwant. So that’s where I’m going.”
“I guess I can share space with the witch. We can put a broom out when we’re... busy.”
I rolled my eyes and had to fight a smile at the visual of Moira waiting in the hall while Kingston had his way with me. She’d be more likely to take the broom and shove it up his ass. He’d probably like it.
“I’m going tomyroom. Without you. You are going to fuck off and leave me alone because if you snarl down my neck for one more minute, I am going to castrate you.”
He playfully covered his junk. “Don’t listen to the mean wolf, Jake. She’s just hungry. She’ll feel better after she eats something.”
When I reached the third floor, I shoved open the door and spun around as he followed me out into the hallway. I hated how confident he was. How he knew I was fighting with my own instinct and was sure my wolf would win. “Go to your room,” I growled.
“Not until I’m sure you get home safely.”
“I’m literally five feet from my door.”
“Doesn’t matter.”
I shook my head, not sure what I was feeling anymore other than twisted in knots. Then I scowled. “You just want to watch my ass.”
“Guilty as charged. It’s a really nice ass. I like how it jiggles. Especially when I—”
The door swung open, interrupting him before he could finish or I could knock. Not like I had anywhere to store my key in everything I wasn’t wearing. Moira stared at me, eyes wide, hair inky black and styled in a spiky pixie cut.
“Oh. My. God. What the fuck?” Her gaze traveled past me and landed on Kingston. “Get in here. It looks like we’re skipping our morning yoga so you can explain what”—she gestured to my naked body—“this is.”
“Don’t worry, she’s nice and stretched from all our exercise last night.”
I glowered at him. “I’m in my room. You can go.”
“I’ll leave after the door is shut. Gotta get in every second that ass is visible. Maybe next time, I’ll come in the back door.”
“We don’t have a—” Moira started. Then her eyes widened.
Thoroughly mortified, I grabbed the door. “Goodbye, Kingston.”
I slammed it in his face with enough force to make the whole thing tremble for several seconds after I released it.
“Girl...”
I looked at my roommate and shook my head. “Have I told you lately how much I fucking hate shifters?”
