“They’re not going to like that.”
Shrugging, I leaned back into him. “They’ll have to deal with it. I’m not going to keep it a secret for long. I just... I need time to let it sink in. If you hadn’t been the one to sniff it out, I wouldn’t tell you yet either. A woman needs time to wrap her head around something this big before other people get all up in her business about it.”
A low growl of disapproval rumbled from his chest, vibrating into my back. “Sunday, you and I don’t have secrets.”
“Oh, stop with the Alpha bullshit. There’s a tiny wolf-vampire-god growing inside me. I’m just asking for a few days. You know this isn’t something I’d hide from any of you. I just don’t want to”—I bit my lip—“jinx it.”
“It’s a wolf,” he growled sulkily. “But fine, I get it. This is our secret. For now.”
“You just want to tell everyone you knocked me up, don’t you? Strut around campus with your big virile dick swinging?”
“Technically, it’s my big virile balls.”
“Gross.”
“You love my balls.”
“Shut up.”
“You love me.”
“Dammit, I really do.”
He wrapped my hair around his fist and tugged until my face was tilted up toward him. Then, just like he’d claimed my body time and time again, Kingston Farrell laid claim to my lips like a fated mate should.
