“Dad?”

I nod.

“Well, one thing that was always held over my head is that disobedient children go into the ground.”

I cast a glance past Luna into Mom’s room, see her damn near ruined body, then crack my neck.

With a nod, I start down the hallway toward Kalen’s room, and when I reach his door a low growl escapes me as I kick his door open and step inside.

There are tears running down Kalen’s face, but they’re for him.

Not for what he did to Mom.

Not for how selfish he’s been in his resentment of her instead of looking inside of himself and maybe helping her more.

And as a son of Luke Greene, that just won’t do.
