They lay next to each other, and Onyx traced the valley of her curves with his fingers. It gave Azura chills, sending waves of goosebumps over her sacred body. She closed her eyes and felt him touching her, her silhouette thrown against the back wall like a renaissance painting.

“My wife,” Onyx whispered.

Azura opened her eyes. Those wonderful, honey eyes, looking back at him and beholding all that he was and ever would be.

“My husband,” she replied.

“I wish I could have met you earlier in life,” Onyx said. “I wish I could have known you before any pain ever touched your heart and held you when it did.”

Azura smiled so sweetly, then inched herself closer to her husband. She laid her head on his chest as he pushed her bangs out of her eyes. They were as round as the moon looking up at him.

“Babe,” she said, “you’re here with me now. That’s the main lesson you’ve taught me … stay here in the now.”

Onyx couldn’t have been happier if he had tried. He wanted to stay awake with her forever, chasing the sunrise on Earth, Nova Aurora, or any other damn planet she wanted to venture to.
