He shrugged. “Yes.”
“Shouldn’t you be angrier with me than him?”
He shrugged again. “Yes.”
“Stop doing that one-word answer crap.”
“Okay. I never said I wasn’t angry with you. I’m just not going to kick your ass. I don’t beat women.”
I nodded. “I’m sorry for kissing him, but it will surprise me if you ever kick my ass.”
“Yes, well, that remains to be seen. Perhaps one day.”
I laughed and shook my head. “You’re an odd one, Mr. Fraser.”
He grunted. His features turned dark, proving he was still angry. “Do you want to be with him? Do you want to fuck him?”
My eyes widened and my eyebrows shot up. “What kind of question is that?”
“A simple one. Would you prefer to be with Isaac?”
I nibbled on my lip. “I don’t think so.” He clenched his hands into fists. “I’m a little freaked out that I found you so early in my life. We’re immortal. That’s a long time to live. You know that better than anyone. So, being with one person for hundreds, thousands of years seems daunting to a twenty-four-year-old. Even if the bond between us is undeniable.”
“Are you saying you want an open relationship?”
“I’m not saying anything right now, but what do you want?”
“I’ve lived a long life, Red. I’ve been waiting almost two thousand years to find you.” His lips pulled into a half smile. “After all that time, I finally found you. You want to know what I want? You. I want you.”
I rose and moved over to him. His hands were still clenched in fists. I climbed into his lap. “I want you too. I’m just freaked out.”
“You’re scared.”
“Freaked out.” It sounded better than ‘scared.’
He wrapped an arm around my back, resting his other hand on my thigh. “Scared.”
“Fine. I’m scared.”
He held me closer. “Of what?”
My fingers played with his chest hair as I spoke. “Well, there’s that whole thing about you keeping shit from me. Lying to me.”
His chest vibrated a little when he grunted. “Okay. Look at me.”
I met his eyes with mine and watched in shock as one turned bright blue. He held a finger to my lips to stop me from talking, then he used the same finger to point to his hair. When I saw it, I jumped out of his lap.
It was black with a white streak in the middle of his hair from his forehead down.
“What the fuck? What the actual fuck? Why do you look like that? How is that possible? Who are you?”
“I am the Vinur.”
