I’m brazen as fuck, but what can I say? I want to test my men.

My men… I should ponder that a little more. But not now. His eyes narrow with a wolfish grin.

“We’ll see how things go. There will be more of ‘us’ too. Maybe not here… We’ll see.”

“Don’t you think they’ll find it suspicious that you are the only one not interested in spending time with me alone?”

He muses.

“It’s not about that…” he says, his smile fading. “I didn’t plan to be with you tonight,” he unexpectedly confesses. “We looked for you. I’m sure you know all that. And then Kai wanted to give you some space.”

“Not you, it seems.”

Humor lines my voice.

He gives me a faint smile.

“He has his reasons. I’m not questioning his decision. He also knows you better than Francisco and me. He has a different dynamic with you. Plays his cards differently.”

So it is about the game, after all.

He searches my eyes for a few good moments, his stare going melancholic again.

“He gives you freedom, cariño. That’s his game.”

My smile drops.

His thumb moves tenderly over my cheek, warming that patch of skin.

He nods.

“How would that work in his favor?”

Stretching a fiery grin, he shrugs.

“We don’t know. We’ll have to see. My guess is… You’ll end up loving him for that. The way he set this thing up gave him an advantage. Will it work? We’ll all find out sooner or later.”

Everything sounds more serious now. And it’s no longer about the money and the orgies. The wild sex. It’s a tournament of lust, but the trophy is, ultimately, love.

I smack back that thought.

“You give me freedom, too. And Francisco. You both entered the agreement, knowing you would share a woman. Accepting the idea.”

“Yes… Yes. We did. We liked the idea a lot. Besides… The game is not rigged. It’s very much on. Even if Kai has an advantage. Or I think he has.”

“You think us being a secret works to your advantage?”

“It’s not about that. I believe seeing each other outside the group should be a secret when possible. Why do you think he put them in the agreement? Spending time alone with you. And having secrets.”

I look at him, thunderstruck. He smiles, pleasantly surprised by my reaction.

And nods again.

“Yeah… There’s a reason for that clause. And we should all use it. But Kai didn’t. And Francisco didn’t as well. Kai didn’t make a secret of fucking you last night. And Francisco couldn’t help himself and fucked you in the pool and later in his car.”

“He didn’t fuck me in the pool…”

A knowing smile creases his lips.
