He took her as close to the edge as he could, before pulling back, grabbing a condom and rolling it on his aching cock before moving over her.

“Hurry,” Mia said breathlessly, wrapping her legs around his waist, raising her hips up to meet him as he pushed inside her. He tried to go slowly at first, wanting the moment to last, but she felt so unbelievably good, warm and soft and wet. “Please, Jack,” she begged, and that was enough. He let himself go, pumping into her hard and fast, holding on just long enough to feel her contract around him as her body bowed off the bed and she cried out, the climax sweeping her away.

Jack came hard, his body shuddering in release before collapsing on top of Mia, burying his face in her neck. The feel of her hands lazily stroking his back, down to his butt and back up and her sigh of contentment had him raising his head to look at her. She gave him a drowsy smile, her green eyes glowing. He felt swamped with unnamed emotions, almost overwhelmed. Unsure what they might mean, or how to voice them, he kissed her before rolling on to his back, pulling her with him so her head was resting on his shoulder. As Mia drifted back to sleep, Jack stared up at the ceiling for a long while before pressing a kiss to Mia’s head and letting himself drop off to sleep with her.

That evening, Jack decided it might be nice to get out of the house and go for a walk.

“We can’t,” Mia said, and it almost killed him that she looked so sad. “Half the company live here, and it’s a tiny town. I can’t risk being seen with you, and the same goes for you. It’s just a complication I don’t want to have right now. I hope you understand.”

“I think I do. I don’t want to complicate things right now, either. They’re too good.”

“Exactly!” His heart tightened when she grinned. She was just… lovely. She was lovely and unexpected and divine.

“Okay, but I don’t want to sneak around too much. I want to do things with you. Normal, couple things.”

“Oh, so we’re a couple now?” If he hadn’t been looking at her, her question would have made him bite his tongue. He was hyper aware of not rushing her. But her eyes were alight with humor and… something else he couldn’t name.

“Well, let me see,” he teased. “We’re sleeping together, and I can’t imagine who I’d want to be with more than you, so yes, I would like to do normal couple things with you, in a normal couple way.”

“All right,” Mia said after a quick pause. “So we need a solution.”

“We’ll go slow. Dinner at mine every night this week, and then we’ll see about getting out of town on the weekend.”

“Every night? I can’t do every night, but I can give you two nights and a sleepover on Friday.”

Jack couldn’t help the grin that spread over his features. “Okay. Do you like rock-climbing?”

“I’ve never been rock-climbing. Is it hard?”

“It’s hard to get used to, but if you’re not scared of heights, you should be fine. I can teach you a few things. There’s a great place in New Bern, should be far enough away and I’ve never seen anyone from work there before.”

“Okay, sounds great.”

“Good.” Jack smiled and gave her a quick kiss. “Now, what are your thoughts on Netflix and chill?”

Mia’s laughter rang out through the house, and Jack couldn’t help but grin as he reached for the remote control. He could get used to feeling like this.
