A smile climbed across my face.
It was a good night last night. She was a fun one. She was exactly what I needed after what happened with Chloe.
It wasn’t like Chloe and I were actually serious. We weren’t going to end up engaged, married, then buying a house in some nice neighborhood and filling the bedrooms in the mansion with kids.
Even still, it was a punch to the gut to show up there and find her riding some stranger.
Odd enough - a stranger who was a fan of me and the team. A stranger who was worried more about an autograph and getting some tips on how to be a better goalie instead of the fact that his dick had just been buried between my girlfriend’s legs.
That was officially the past now.
Chloe could screw whoever she wanted.
The wannabe goalie could screw whoever he wanted.
And as for me?
I could screw whoever I wanted.
And, hey, even Grace… she could screw whoever she wanted.
That was the perfection of a well-planned one-night stand.
I looked down at my cock, nodded, then slowly opened the bathroom door.
To my delight, my bed was empty.
My bedroom?
Almost empty.
I crept into the room and gave it a quick scan and…
All of Grace’s clothes were gone too.
I put my hands together and looked up. “Thank you.”
That saved me from any kind of awkward conversation. Or intense temptation.
Never underestimate the enjoyment of good coffee and hot morning sex.
But that would have messed everything up.
“Well, Grace, thank you for last night,” I said. I walked to my bed and touched the pillow she had slept on. “You’re beautiful. You’re honest and real. And that move you made with your hips… fucking hell, sweetie. I’m not sure I ever met someone who could make a circle with their hips like that.”
I patted the pillow.
My cleaning person would come in a little bit to wash and change the sheets for me.
And just like that, Grace would be completely gone.
Maybe not forgotten. Not yet at least.
I still needed a hot shower and to worry about my day.
She’d eventually slip into the back of my mind, then just slip away all together.
“I will say this, Grace,” I said out loud again to the pillow she slept on. “You are pretty cool. I’m not sure I ever met someone as relaxed as you. I’ll admit there’s a part of me that wishes you were still here in my bed. Just to see what would happen next.”
