“Have I used my free pass yet this year?” I asked.

“Given that it is only January, no. You sure you want to use it for this?” he asked.

“Maybe not,” I decided. “Besides, he doesn’t even have a motorcycle to ride out of town on,” I declared.

“That almost counted,” Valen warned.

“Oh, bullshit,” I shot back, giving his hip a harder shove.

“Wanna fight it out?” he asked, waving toward the ring we were standing in.

I knew exactly how this was going to go.

I had many years of experience “grappling” with my husband.

It always ended up with clothes torn off and good orgasms.

“With you? I always want to fight it out,” I said, throwing myself at him and sending him flying to the ground.

It genuinely was a fight for a while.

Both of us battling each others’ egos, trying to prove we were the better fighter. What can I say? Not even fifteen years and three kids and a house that constantly needed repairs could put a damper on our competitive spirits.

But somewhere along the way, his hand landed on my ass. And then that familiar, delicious little zing went through my body, and it wasn’t long before my hips were grinding down on his hard cock, and then our clothes were all around us, and he was buried deep inside me.

It was rare we got completely private, no-holds-barred, adult playtime anymore. What with kids in the house, you tried to keep it down or find a couple minutes to squeeze a quickie in between after-school activities.

But getting to go at each other with the sort of primal, all-consuming lust and love that we’d known since we were barely more than ids ourselves?

Fucking priceless.

“Don’t forget to wipe the cameras,” Valen said as he ran his hand down the length of my spine. “But maybe after making a copy for us,” he decided as we both stared up at the camera in the corner of the gym.

“I’m kind of hoping that these damn things don’t live feed to an actual person,” I said, grimacing.

“Well, they got quite a show, at least,” he said as he pulled away to fold up, grabbing for something in his pant pocket.

“What’s that?” I asked.

“Your anniversary gift,” he told me as he held out the folded up paper.

“No way,” I said, smiling down at a very familiar-looking over-water cabin.

“Turks and Caicos,” he confirmed. “Just like that last time,” he added. “Just the two of us. In bed. Your parents already said they’d watch the kids for the long weekend. What do you say?” he asked when I sat there silent.

The other time might not have been worth it.

But I was pretty sure I wanted to use my one pass now.

“That depends,” I said, smile devilish, letting him in on what I was about to say.

“On if I am going to peel out of town as soon as we get back?” he asked, rolling his eyes at me. “I think we’ve established by now that there is nowhere in this fucking world I could go that you couldn’t track me down and drag me back from.”

“This is true,” I agreed. “And if I need some help, I’m pretty sure our little one is animalistic enough to actually track your scent,” I said.

“She takes after her mother,” he said. “That one,” he added as we rushed to get our clothes back on when we saw Mills opening the door for Maeve at a arcade across the street, and having her walk out with the biggest stuffed animal that we knew he must have won for her. “That one is all me. And Adie…” he said, shaking his head.

“She’s the very best of all of us,” I decided. “So, Turks and Caicos,” I said, looking down at the paper again. “But this time, we don’t have to lie to my parents about us staying in separate cabins.”

“I mean… we could tell your dad we’re sleeping separately.”

“Oh, come on, that lye shipment he ordered when we had that fight over our honeymoon trip has probably expired by now,” I reasoned, getting a hard slap to the ass. “My lye supply, however, is always fresh and ready,” I warned him with a smile.

“So, what I’m hearing is I have to make the little one brush her teeth.”

“Now you’re catching on,” I agreed, leaning into Valen as he threw an arm over my shoulders as we moved outside.

Sure, our story had some rocky patches, long periods of longing and regret, but all of that heartbreak and uncertainty was worth forever with the only man I’d ever loved.
