“How far do you think you can get?” he asks. “The door is locked. My men aren’t going to let you parade through the complex to retrieve my children and send you on your merry way.”
“They’re not your children.”
“We’ll see,” Antonio says. “I had Mario send in DNA tests. You’re not leaving until the results come in.”
I don’t dare ask how long that will take or what will happen when he finds out he is their biological father.
“Is that why you kidnapped us? Because you want to be a father?” It seems far-fetched even for Antonio.
“As I told you before, I brought you here to protect you.” Antonio grows more annoyed with my questions. “Would you rather I hand you over to your brother and let you share a cell in the basement together?”
My stomach drops at his admission. “You have Mikhail here?”
“It’s why I came up to your room,” Antonio says. “I was going to ask you to talk to him, but maybe I should put you both in lockup together. Does he know that I’m the twins’ father?”
“You’re not their father,” I say. Even biologically related, that doesn’t make him their father. He’s not in their life, and I don’t expect him to be around as they grow up.
Antonio grabs my arm. He’s forceful as he drags me across the room.
“Where are you taking me?” I try to break free, but he’s too strong. I use my other hand to attempt to reach across him for his gun, but he slams my back up against the wooden door and forces my hands above my head.
“Tesorina,” he whispers into my ear.
His proximity forces my body to shiver. I pray he doesn’t notice my reaction.
“I know you want me,” he breathes into my ear, pinning me against the door. His body is tight with mine, and it’s not his weapon I feel against my crotch.
“Seems you want me too,” I say, forcing my eyes to meet his as he pulls back just slightly to stare into my gaze.
Is he going to kiss me?
His breath mixes with mine, teasing me. His proximity excites me, and as much as he’s a monster, he hasn’t hurt me. Antonio hasn’t forced me to do anything yet.
“If I wanted you, I’d have had you,” he says. “Do you think I can’t get any girl I want, or whom I desire?”
“I’m not yours to have,” I say and rock hard against him, attempting to break free. All that happens is his hold on me tightens against my wrists, and his body is pressed harder against mine.
“Your body isn’t saying that,Tesorina,” Antonio says with a smirk.
