Ariella had already dropped the cups on the table, and Hazel started handing them out and pouring beer into each one.

“Dance with me,” I said, taking Hazel’s advice. If she didn’t think it was a big deal, then maybe the guys wouldn’t either.

Ariella’s eyes widened. “Jaxson,” she whispered, keeping her voice low and quiet.

It was difficult to hear her over the loud pulsating sound of music that played overhead on the speaker system.

“It’s not karaoke night. I’m not asking you to sing with me.”

“If you do, I’ll kill you,” Ariella said. “Even Izzie knows I don’t sing.”

I laughed under my breath. She’d heard me sing Izzie to bed a few times, and while I wasn’t anything special in the vocals department, I could carry a tune—mostly.

“Then dance with me,” I said and gave her hand a firm squeeze.

It was just a dance.

Everyone at Eagle Tactical knew there was chemistry between us.

There was no harm in dancing.

I’d found it hard enough to keep my hands to myself at the office, but there hadn’t been another choice. Bending her over my desk and taking her the way I wanted was hardly classified as professional.

I yanked her closer.

She groaned and let me pull her tight against my body.

“Am I going to have to dance with all my work colleagues?” Ariella asked. “Because I’m not comfortable getting that intimate with Declan, Aiden, Mason, or Lincoln.”

Laughing, I pulled her close and tight against my body. “Just me.”

“Good, because I don’t want to feel any of them bump up against me,” Ariella whispered into my ear.

She wrapped her arms around my neck, her fingers warm against my skin.

Staring into her eyes, I wanted to kiss her, but I couldn’t, not with the others watching.

There wasn’t a corner, a hallway to sneak in and steal her away for a few kisses and intimate moments together.

“I want to take you home, have my way with you, Freckles.” Every ounce of strength within me was focused on controlling my impulses.

I had to break my gaze and glance away. The temptation ofherwas just too damned much.

Her scent.

The feel of her warm body pressed tight against me.

I needed her.

Lincoln stood and helped the young blonde to her feet.

I guess he wasn’t joining us tonight. That was fine with me. I wasn’t sure how much longer I’d want to stay out at the bar and keep my hands to myself.

“Do you want to get out of here?” I whispered into her ear.

Freckles smiled and laughed at me, pulling back only slightly. “I do, but we can’t. Lincoln has bailed, and Mason needs a friend, so does Hazel.”

“They’ve got Aiden and Declan.” Those guys were still single, as far as I knew. If they were dating anyone recently, they hadn’t mentioned it.
