"Fuck!" Nikita drops his hands to the sides. "Let's go back and talk about this like men. Mikhail will understand. Think about it."
"Because he let Madisyn into his home?" I shake my head, not believing it. "That's different. It's him. He's Pakhan. I don't have the same privilege." I won't even have my life if he discovers I knew Savannah was a federal agent and kept it from him.
I glance Nikita over. He looks ruffled, but my stomach is churning like I might be sick at any minute. Does he think that this comes easily to me?
"Get back in the SUV," Nikita says. His face is red. There's rage behind his gaze, and if we weren't in public, he might pull out his gun and threaten me with it.
But he's not about to fuck up his life with Lucy.
"I can't do that." I shrug out of his grasp and stalk around the building toward the front entrance.
Nikita doesn't follow.
The door to the vehicle slams shut, and the tires squeal as he hurries away, leaving me on my own. I didn't expect him to be pleased with my decision, but they'll kill Savannah if I don't do this.
And I can't let that happen.
