Jameson’s fingers flew across the keyboard again, and soon a video was projected. The timestamp showed a black SUV zoomed across the screen five minutes prior.

“Jameson, I need you to continue monitoring the car's whereabouts. I will call Tucker’s sheriff and give them the heads up, hopefully blocking them from going any farther. They are most likely hoping we assume they go toward the highway.

“Alexis. You and Cliff follow that trail,” Preston demanded, pointing toward a tiny dirt-like road running parallel to the main road. “If they try to bypass Tucker by chance, that is the only other path they can take to get to Highway 276.

As the duo nodded, Preston turned to Beau.

“You’re coming with me. Let’s get your girl.”

Beau was living through his worst nightmare, but for the first time in the last fifteen minutes, he felt the signs of hope blossom.

She had to be okay. She had to be safe and waiting for him.

Because there was no world without Savannah in it, there was no beauty. There was no peace. There was no love. And he’d move heaven and earth to prove that to her.
