“Guys, Penny and Evie are here,” Dean clears this throat.
Behind us, a car pulls up. Max waves hello through the window as Evie gets out of the car.
We get Rosie loaded up into the car, and say our goodbyes. She seemed to be less upset about everything after I made my promise, and I intend to keep it.
“Sorry you had to miss all the fun,” Harlow says, pulling Evie into a hug.
“It’s okay. You know I don't like big crowds like this anyways,” Evie says, looking at the remaining people. “Plus, I had to make sure everything was set up. The truck should be here soon, so we should get this place cleared out quickly.”
“I want to add one more person to the list for tonight,” Harlow growls. Evie just takes one look at Harlow's face and knows what's up.
“Alright. Give me a name, and it's done.”
Harlow tells Evie the little girl's name, and through school records, she is able to get the man's name. Peter White. He’s been scamming people out of money for the past five years and has three charges of assault, all on teenage girls.
Evie shows Harlow a photo of the guy, and then the hunt is on. It takes all of five minutes before we spot the guy with his wife and daughter. The looks he gives his child and the way he's rubbing her leg as he holds her in his arm makes me ready to pull out my gun and put a bullet between his eyes right now.
“Well, looks like Peter is going to get a call requiring him to leave early, only for him to never to be seen again,” Harlow says, a smile that is only ever seen in your worst nightmares slowly taking over her face. “Let's clear this place out, I wanna play.”
