He looks over at Rosie, and seeing that she’s distracted with Daisy, he leans in and pulls me in for a quick but passionate kiss. When I pull away, I feel light-headed and floaty. I'm so not used to this.

I look over at Neo, allowing myself to really take in his costume, and let out a catcall. “Damn! Look at you, you sexy thang.” Neo twirls for me, his pink fairy dress swishing with the movement. His costume looks exactly like the one in the movie, only bigger to fit his size.

“I look damn good, don't I?” He smirks. “I had to have mine custom-made too. No way I’d be able to get my arms into this thing if I didn't. And look, I got wings.” He wiggles his eyebrows excitedly before giving me a spin.

“Why does he look so good as a blonde?” Cass laughs, flicking a piece of Neo’s blonde wig.

“Now, now, Cassy, I’m your cousin. That's just plain nasty. Also, I’m a one-woman kinda woman.” He grins, pulling me under his arm, and his wings poke me in the side. I just watch on in amusement. This feeling of happiness... this feels foreign, but I like it.

“Oh shut up, you crazy nut,” Cass laughs, shaking his head. “I’m a one-woman kinda man.” He smiles at me.

“Can we go now? This thing is giving me a wedgie,” Axel complains, picking at his ass.

“Alright, Toto, you ready?” I ask Rosie.

“Yup!” She holds up her candy bag.

“Then let’s go!” I scoop her up and head to the door as I singWe’re off to see the Wizard.

“ITHINK WE SHOULD BEheading back, Rosie. You have enough candy for the next year and it’s already past your bedtime. You still have school in the morning,” Cass says, crouching down to her level.

“One more house, pleeeeeease?” she begs, giving him big, puppy dog eyes.

I can see the fight in him die quickly because who could say no to that cute little girl? Not him. She has him wrapped around her little finger, same with the rest of us.

“Fine. One more, then we leave.” Cass gives in.

“Thank you, Daddy!” she cheers, kissing him on the cheek.

We decided to go Trick or Treating in the next neighborhood over. The community where the guys live only has a few houses, and they are too far apart, so we picked a place with houses closer together to make it easier for Rosie’s little legs. Also, from the looks of it, most of the guys don't look too comfortable in their costumes, so less walking for them would probable be appreciated. Neo, however, is enjoying himself, all smiles and being carefree, complimenting all the kids on their costumes. And when someone gives him a dirty look, he growls at them. It’s funny shit. A grown man dressed as a fairy witch looking like he's about to bite your head off. Beast will always be lying in wait to have any chance he can to make it back to the surface.

“Thank Fuck, we are going home. I’m sweating like a pig in this thing, and I’ve made five kids cry already. Why did no one tell me my face makeup was running?” Axel snaps.

“Because it was funny watching kids point and scream,”

“You're fucked,” Axel scoffs. Good thing Rosie is too busy looking at the direction of the house we’re standing in front of to hear him swear, no pockets for his wallet in that costume.

“Not yet.” Neo grins at me.

“Not tonight, big guy. I'm stopping at the apartment after I get Rosie into bed. Evie and I are going to have a‘Halloweentown’marathon with Sam.”

“Boo,” Neo pouts. “Can I come?”

“No,” I say, giving him a raised brow. “You scare the shit out of Sam. You're always so... growly.”

“Because he's stuck to you like a leech every time you’re there,” Neo grumbles.

“You need to get it through your pretty head that Sam is one of us now. I don't care if you don't like it. That’s life. Get over it. And if you don’t, no sex for you.”

Neo gasps dramatically. “You wouldn't!”

“Watch me,” I sass back, cocking a brow.

“Daddy!” Rosie cries, running down the pathway, and right into Cass’s arms. She hugs Cass tightly as she sobs into his shoulder.

“Rosie, baby, what happened?” I ask.

She looks up at me with tears streaming down her face. “That man was mean,” she hiccups. My guard goes up, and Queenie takes over as quickly as a light switch being flipped. “He told me they had no more candy and then said a bad word. He slammed the door in my face.”
