“Queenie, you’re back,” Laura says, sitting up and fixing her hair.
“Oh fuck, sounds about right, and yes, I’m back.” I turn my eerily cheerful smile on her. “Looks like you’re having a little party.”
“We were just...” She looks around, lost for words. Maybe she's too high to think, or maybe she knows better than to lie to my face.
“I know what you were doing. And now you’re gonna sit the fuck down and listen.”
Grabbing my dagger from my leg, I plop down in the empty chair, leaning over and grabbing an apple from the fruit bowl in the middle of the coffee table. Sitting back, I take my dagger, the one covered in Neo’s blood, and slice off a piece. Popping it into my mouth, I chew as I slowly stare down every girl, watching them squirm.
“So,” I say, swallowing and licking the juice from my lip. “You think you have the right to throw all my rules out the window the moment I fucking leave town? To have the nerve to disrespect my second in command; that you can act 'mightier than thou' towards my guys who enforce my rules for me?”
They look like they want to lie to save their asses, but no one speaks. The look of regret fills their eyes.
“I give you a free place to live. I pay for your food and bills. Give you a job and this is how you repay me? Act like fake bitches and turn on me, everything I’ve built, the second I leave. I gave you a safe place to be yourself, and if this is who you truly are, you have no right to be here. To tarnish everything I’ve created. Since you seem to disregard everything I’ve given you, I’m going to have to let you go. As of right now, you are all fired. You are all being evicted. I’ll give each of you enough money to get a hotel for a month while you find new jobs and homes, but you no longer have one here with me. You should be grateful I don’t beat your asses right now for your actions. But I currently have more pressing issues and a meaningful playdate to attend to, so get the fuck out of my club. NOW!” I bark, getting up and tossing the apple at one of the girl’s head; the one who fucking fell asleep while I was talking.
So damn disappointing. But not everyone wants to be saved.
“Oh, and you know what happens if you ever mention anything that happens within these walls. Don't make me have to pay you an unscheduled visit."
With that, I head down to my showroom where my new friend is waiting. My face breaks into a sinister grin as I take in the scene before me. He’s strapped to a chair, and my tools are all laid out in a pretty, neat line just begging to be used.
What a wonderful welcome home party I get to have.
