When we got back home, Inessa took her medicine and all the supplements before falling asleep. I covered her up before slipping from the room, going in search of James.
“She good?” he asked me when I stepped into his office.
“For now,” I informed him. I filled him in on everything the emergency room doctor had recommended. His eyes widened.
“That’s a damn good bit of information.”
I nodded in agreement. “I’m going to try it. Do you think you can make sure Mrs. Judy prepares something for me and her at mealtimes that are gluten and dairy free? I want to make the change with her, make it easier on her to transition.”
James nodded and grabbed his phone, typing out a message. “Your family, and so is she. Of course, Mrs. Judy can do that for you two.”
I cleared my throat. “I also want a little bit of time off, just until she’s off her menstrual. She’s going to need me to make sure she’s taking her meds so she doesn’t become too affected by the pain.”
James nodded. “Go. Just report back to me when she’s good.”
I nodded once in thanks and disappeared from his office, going to take care of my wife.
