I scoot closer and hitch my legs around his waist. “That’s a convinceme.”
His mouth is on mine before my next breath. His lips sure, his tongue even surer. Sucking, nipping, convincing.
In some distant far away part of my mind, Brain brain is telling me to tell him everything before it’s too late. Hoo-ha may or may not be smothering her with a pillow.
I rake my nails up the back of his neck and arch into his body. My past makes no difference to my now.
He runs his hands up my sides and pulls his lips from mine. “Come with me tomorrow night to that dinner.”
The hopeful set to his face may make my insides happy, or it might just be down to the lazy circle he’s just made with his hips.
“As youuuuuuur...” I raise my eyebrows, I’ve no idea what it is I want him to say. Or maybe I do. Either way my heart thumps a little faster when his mouth curves.
“As myyyyy ... more than friend?” He presses another kiss to my mouth. “What’re the odds of you staying in Clua?”
I nod. Shake my head. Nod again. “About the same as this surviving the two weeks till I’m supposed to go.”
