As in her perfect peach-shaped, lush ass.

Calliope is wearing a fitted pink dress today, and fuck me, that ass is making me feel all kinds of things.

It’s mostly my cock feeling things as the bastard decided to harden as soon as I looked through the peephole in my apartment door and caught a glimpse of Champ’s ass as she made her way to the elevator.

I should have sprinted after her to get on the lift too, but I needed to calm my dick down before I came face-to-face with my newest employee.

I’m in the midst of that now as I step in place next to where she’s waiting on the sidewalk in front of our building.

“Good morning, Calliope,” I say gruffly.

Her eyes snake up my dark blue suit and gray tie to my face. “Good morning, Mr. Wells.”

Is that how it’s going to be?

As much as I enjoy being called that, we’re not just two people who work together. We’re neighbors, and I don’t want to draw a line in the sand on when she can or can’t call me by my first name.

“Call me Sean,” I tell her with a smile.

“All right,” she says hesitantly. “Should I be calling your brother Mr. Wells?”

She should call him Decky because his head would explode, but my brother and I agreed to respect one another at the office, or at least attempt to.

“Declan is fine,” I say as I glance over her head to the approaching traffic.

“Declan,” she repeats softly. “Got it.”

I take a step forward when I notice my black SUV approaching. The driver, Jurgen, raises a hand off the steering wheel in greeting. I offer him a nod in response.

Calliope glances at me. “This is your ride?”

“Our ride,” I correct her. “The length of my work day varies, but Jurgen will be available to drive you home each day at six. I can’t say for certain if I’ll be along for that ride on any given day.”

As Jurgen gets out and rounds the car, Calliope steps forward. “I appreciate that, but I won’t always come straight home from work each day. Sometimes, like today, I have plans.”

I watch her ass as she climbs into the back seat of the vehicle.

I shake off the thought of what it would be like to take her from behind and instead focus on what she just said as I follow her into the car. “You have plans?”

In no realm within the business world is it appropriate for me to ask that. It’s the same reason why I haven’t drilled her on whether or not she has a boyfriend.

I’m her boss, and there are limits to what I can inquire about.

Her gaze skims my face. “That’s right. I have plans.”

That tells me nothing.

I turn my attention to the window and watch the countless people rushing by on the sidewalk in pursuit of another day at work.

“I appreciate the ride to work, Sean,” she says softly.

I look at her only to find her staring at me. “It’s my pleasure, Champ.”

That coaxes a soft smile to her lips. “I’m excited to prove to you what I’m capable of. I know I’ll be a great asset to Wells.”

I cock a brow. “You already landed the job. Save that enthusiasm for your first campaign. You’re about to discover that I’m not easy to impress.”

Her smile doesn’t falter. In fact, it widens even more. “There’s a lot more to me than meets the eye. I’m confident you’ll be more than satisfied with what I bring to the table.”

With that, she turns her attention to the window next to her as Jurgen steers the car into the morning traffic of Manhattan.

There is something so fucking irresistible about a confident woman. Add a drop-dead gorgeous face, a body made for sin, and an ability to spar effortlessly with me.

Calliope Morrow is a goddamn force of nature, and the fact that she may be going out with some undeserving fool tonight is the only thing I can think about.

“It looks like you’re doing some actual work today.” My brother’s voice breaks through the fog of my thoughts as he wanders into my office through the open doorway.

“Back up and shut the damn door,” I say in response. “Then knock so I can tell you to get lost.”

Declan sits his ass in one of the chairs that face my desk. “We need to go over the new distribution deal.”

We both know that we don’t need to handle that alone.

We employ people who are highly skilled at negotiating contracts that will land our products in more stores worldwide.

The fact is that neither of us is willing to give up that level of control.

We began this as a two-person endeavor, and we’re still committed to that regardless of how many lawyers or brilliant business minds we’ve hired.
