Looks like it’s game on.

The pool area is quiet, only a couple of people swimming in the water. For someone like me, the five-lane lap pool is small, but it’s still a nice size to have for the residents. The smell of chlorine envelops us, a smell that’s like home to me. Harper walks to one of the lounges and puts down her things and the towels she took for us.

Grabbing the hem of her shirt, she pulls it over her head before taking off her sweatpants. She’s wearing the same black bathing suit she wore in the pictures she sent me before. It looks good on her, accentuating her curves perfectly. The need to touch her is so strong, I have to focus on something else. I also need to calm down my body’s reaction, or we’ll get into trouble for public indecency.

When I think my dick can behave, I take off my clothes too, aware of Harper’s eyes on me the whole time. As much as I hate it, I need to ignore her for a moment or this really won’t end well. Maybe this was a terrible idea after all.

Somehow, we make it into the water, and I propel myself off the wall to swim a lap.

Harper’s still in the same spot where I left her, sporting a huge grin when I stop right in front of her. “Show-off.”

I wink at her and brush the wet hair out of my face. “Do you need to warm up before our race?”

She laughs. “Oh yes, because I’m sure that’ll help.”

I hold on to the ledge behind her and shrug. “You never know. It might be the deciding factor.”

“I don’t think there are any deciding factors if you’re involved.”

I move closer to her. “Are you trying to sweet-talk me into letting you win?”

“Depends.”

A little closer. “On what?”

“Whether it’s working or not.”

Just as I’m about to close the distance between us, she takes a deep breath, goes underwater, and pushes off the wall with a force I wouldn’t have expected from someone her size. I stay there for a few moments and just watch her as she emerges out of the water several feet away and swims freestyle in such a clean manner that I forget why I’m here and what I’m supposed to do.

Despite her near perfect technique, she isn’t incredibly fast, which allows me to catch up with her on her way back. I slow down my pace to stay parallel to her, unable to sneak glances at her. Her bilateral breathing is so on point, I almost fall behind from being so transfixed by her.

When we reach the wall, I don’t wait until she catches her breath. I wrap my hand around the back of her nap and crush my mouth to hers. This kiss isn’t pretty, or gentle, but the need to connect with her in this very moment overpowers everything else. This might not make any sense to other people, but to realize that Harper—my Harper—is in her element in the water has me absolutely spellbound.

What else is this gorgeous creature hiding?

I can’t wait to discover all of her secrets.
