"Oh, I can show you so much more than sweet, babe," I growled into her ear as I pulled her closer.

"Keep it in your pants ‘til I drop you off, Nicco!"

We laughed at her comment and settled back into the car, buckling in.

"So, how do you know Nat?"

"She gave me a ride here and helped me figure out my wardrobe situation. When I got out, she gave me her card and told me I could call her if I needed a lift."

I smiled down at Loren as she snuggled into my side. She had sat in the middle instead of the other passenger seat, and our hands were roaming one another. I glanced up and caught sight of Nat in the rearview, and she nodded at me. I wasn't positive, but I expected that Mas had hired Nat to watch out for women who came to this address unofficially. Even when Mas wasn't around, he was still taking care of everyone, protecting them from the villain he saw himself as.

I hoped one day Mas saw himself for the anti-hero he was. He might not be your modern-day Prince Charming, but well, he was a Prince. It just came with bullet holes instead of glass slippers, bodyguards instead of fairy Godmothers, and enemies instead of dwarves.

As much as I wanted out of the family obligations at times, I didn't hate being part of his family. I just wanted something different, something just for me to leave my mark on. Some days that felt impossible, but when I was snuggled up with a beautiful woman, it felt as if perhaps dreams were possible.

Heh, maybe I had it all wrong. Maybe Natalie was the pumpkin carriage, Cami my fairy Godmother, and Climax the ball. Perhaps I was already living my fairy tale, and I just had to open my eyes to see it.

Pulling Loren closer, her body fit into me, and I wished for the first time in my life for magic to be real and that it wouldn't disappear at the stroke of midnight.
