LEVIN

“Here,” Vincent grunted, handing me a glass of whiskey.

I took it and swallowed the contents in one gulp. He scoffed and gave me the entire bottle. Then he grabbed another for himself off the shelf before flopping down beside me on the couch in my room.

“Think he caught her?” he asked.

“He’s probably fucking her as we speak,” I muttered, lifting the whiskey to my lips. I took a deep drink, relishing the burn of liquor as it snaked its way into me. I hated feeling the way I did. Seeing bumblebee walk down that makeshift aisle in her dress made my heart ache in ways it never had before. When I’d made the decision to save her, I knew what it would mean. But damn, it sucked.

Not that I didn’t trust Dom to keep his word, but I also knew him. She was his wife. It would be stupid to think he’d just toss her back to us right away. Or ever. I guessed there was a part of me that figured maybe he’d want to keep her to himself after getting her. Lord knew how fucking perfect she was, even if I'd never admitted it out loud.

I’d done some fucked up shit to Bianca. I’d lied to her at the dance. I’d made her run. I’d chased her. I'd held a gun to her head. She believed I killed Fallon.

Hell, I'd knocked her ass out and stuffed her in my trunk next to Fallon. I was a big offender. Deep down, I knew she had to hate me, but shit, it sucked. There was still a tiny part of me that hoped she didn’t.

“You should've buried yourself in her when you had the chance,” Vincent continued. “It was paradise.”

I grunted, remembering how hot her mouth was on my cock the two times we'd done that. Yeah, shit had been good.

“Seriously, what are we going to do if Dom can’t let go of her? You know he struggled to share before. And that was before she was his wife.”

I shrugged and took another swallow of my whiskey before lighting a joint and taking a hit. I blew out the smoke and settled back against the soft leather and looked over at Vincent. He took the joint and inhaled deeply, coughing out the smoke after a moment.

“Fuck you, I guess,” I said.

Vincent chuckled and took another hit before passing it back to me and taking a drink. “Might have to.”

The sweet fuzziness of the high covered me, relaxing my muscles. Half my bottle of whiskey was gone. I would feel it tomorrow. I peeked at Vincent’s bottle. He looked like he’d be joining me in the struggle.

“It wasn’t so bad, you know?” he said softly after a brief moment of silence.

“What wasn’t?” I gazed up at my ceiling, reveling in the spins it brought me. Fuck, I needed the release from the day.

“That night with B. Kissing.” He cleared his throat before going silent.

We hadn’t discussed our kissing or him rubbing my cock until I'd nearly exploded. I’d have done anything for her in that moment.

I took another hit and blew out the smoke. It hung over my head like a storm cloud.

“Yeah.”

“I’ve never looked at another guy before.”

“Me either,” I said, shifting in my seat to better position my head against the top of the cushions.

“It's not like I want to be with a guy or anything. I want B.” He paused and cleared his throat again. “But I can’t help but wonder what it would be like, you know?”

I did know and didn’t know what the fuck to think about it. It had felt good. Great even. But maybe that was because I'd been rock-hard and weeping precum from my cock because Bianca’s tits were pressed against me.

“Yeah,” I grunted.

“Think she’ll want it again?”

“Maybe.”

“What will we do if she asks?” He fixed me with his dark stare.

I took a hit from the joint and exhaled. It joined the cloud lingering above me. “I don’t know. Go with whatever feels good.”

He nodded. “Good. I didn’t want to do something to piss you off. I only want to make her happy.”

“Same, I guess.”

“You guess?” He let out a soft chuckle. “She’s got you wrapped around her little finger. You did, after all, basically tell Dom to fuck off when you went against his orders.”

“The second worst moment of my life was holding a gun to her head while she cried. There was no way I could do it. Not to her. Never her,” I said softly, my throat tight with the ugly memory. “Maybe if I’d never known her. Even then I’m sure I would've hesitated. Killing a fucking angel seems sacrilege.”

Vincent took the joint from me and inhaled a hit. “Fuck.” He coughed. “Well, she’s married to our best friend now. If there was ever a doubt that Dom gave a shit, it’s gone now. He’s taking the ultimate steps to keep her alive.”

“He is,” I murmured. “I just hope he remembers we give a shit too.”

“He won’t forget. He promised.”

We both fell quiet as we drank and smoked. I tensed as heavy footsteps thudded on the stairs. A moment later, Dom passed by my cracked doorway with Bianca sleeping in his arms as he carried her in her black dress.

“You did good with the dress,” Vincent commented, turning back to me as Dom disappeared.

“Probably not good enough for her to forgive me anytime soon.”

Vincent huffed out a laugh. “She kicked my ass several times today. I’m sure she’ll be coming for you too.” He got up and grabbed another bottle of whiskey before flopping down beside me again and taking a deep swig.

“I deserve nothing less,” I said softly, my chest aching with worry.

What if she never stopped hating me?

The thought brought me little comfort, so I tipped my bottle back before I sparked up another joint.

Fuck it. I’d cry about it tomorrow. For now, I wanted to make sure I could drown out the sounds of Dom fucking her if he got the chance.
