Something didn’t feel right. I took a sip of my drink and handed Aubrey her drink.

I caught sight of the guy talking to three more guys in a dimly-lit corner. The one with the dark hair and equally dark eyes stared back at me, making my breath catch in my chest. Damn. He was beautiful too. They all were. I peered up at the balcony to see Dominic wasn’t there. He’d been there all night.

I frowned, my anxiety growing.

“Let’s dance. I’m sure Dominic will want to leave soon,” Aubrey said, finishing her drink.

I downed mine quickly and followed her to the dance floor, not wanting to get separated and not wanting to ruin her birthday. I told myself Dominic was probably comfortable and having a seat.

We danced to the music. One song after another. A shot girl approached and offered me a drink.

“From Dominic,” she said in my ear.

I looked for him on the balcony but still didn’t see him.

Whatever. If he was sending drinks, then everything must be fine.

I swallowed the shot and handed the server the empty glass. She moved away from us and deeper into the crowd. I went back to dancing with Aubrey and could have sworn I saw Fallon moving through the crowd to the stairs with Stella.

That couldn’t be right.

My head spun. Heat rushed through my body.

“I need to use the bathroom again,” Aubrey said, leaning in to shout in my ear over the pounding music. “You want to come?”

I nodded, wincing at the flashing strobe lights. I stumbled along behind her, the dizziness getting worse.

“Are you OK?” Aubrey asked as we stopped outside the bathroom.

“I-I don’t feel well.” My head gave a wicked spin.

“We can just go find Dominic,” she said. “I can wait to use the bathroom.”

“N-no. Go. Just hurry,” I said weakly. “It’s probably all the flashing lights and alcohol.”

She hesitated for a moment. “OK. I’ll be fast.”

I propped against the wall in the hallway as she disappeared inside the bathroom. I hauled in a deep breath. My head was so light I thought I was going to pass out.

“You look unwell,” a deep voice said from beside me.

I looked up to the voice’s owner and saw he had two blurry heads. Dark hair. Dark eyes. He looked Italian. He was definitely the hot guy I’d seen earlier with Cole.

“I-I’m really dizzy. C-can you get my husband?”

“Of course. You want to sit down?”

I nodded, wincing. He held his hand out to me, and I took it. His hold was firm as he led me deeper down the hall. Lots of rings on his fingers. Holding his hand reminded me of holding Vinny’s hand. I stumbled, and he caught me around the waist, helping me stay on my feet.

“Is there an office back here?” I slurred out.

There was no way I’d drunk enough for this to happen to me. Three drinks never did this to me.

“Yes,” he answered gently, pushing open a door.

A rush of cool air hit my face. I stumbled again as he led me down the steps. A blacked-out SUV pulled up, and a door opened. My heart skipped as I realized I might be in a very bad situation. It felt like I’d blacked out during the walk and missed getting to the destination.

Cole, the blond guy from the bar, jumped out and grabbed me by the waist. I slapped at him, crying out as he hauled me into the dark confines of the vehicle. The door slammed shut, and the guy who’d brought me out got into the driver’s seat.

“We going? Enzo?” Cole asked as I whimpered, continuing to kick at him. He let out a hiss as I caught him in the chest with my heel.

“One minute,” the guy named Enzo grunted.
