“Get your fucking hands off her,” Hail shouted, moving forward and shoving Levin away from me.

Levin didn’t fight back even though I could see the fury dancing in his eyes. Dominic grabbed his arm and tugged him back.

“Watch your back, Ivanov.” Dominic’s eyes glinted with darkness, sending a shiver down my spine.

“Watch yours, De Santis.”

Dominic and Levin watched us go as Hail dragged me down the hall. I cast a quick peek over my shoulder to find both guys eyeing me like hungry wolves.

Something about it should’ve frightened me. Instead, it lit a fire in my belly I knew only they could quench.

But at what cost?

Ooh, girl, those heels are to die for,” Aubrey gushed as I modeled the pink stilettos for her.

It was Saturday, and I’d survived last night with Hail. He’d gotten high with Tate and Drake while Fallon took a few hits before settling in a chair and just watching. When Hail stumbled over to me, it was Fallon who distracted him and nodded for me to leave. I’d have to thank him the next time I saw him. Out of the three of the lords, Fallon was by far the nicest.

When Aubrey texted me that morning asking if I wanted to go into town, agreeing was a no brainer. It kept me away from Hail and his minions.

“I’ll get them. Don’t know where the hell I’ll wear them, but whatever.” I tossed the shoes into the box without bothering to look at the price tag. I wanted to rack David’s credit card up so high it’d make the vein in his forehead pulse.

I snatched a pair in black as well and grabbed a couple purses before heading to the counter with my haul. Once that was done, we hit up a few more shops, buying more clothes than one person needed, before we loaded everything in the Uber we had on standby, courtesy of David’s credit card.

“Mm, Frosty’s has the best iced coffee. You have to try it.” Aubrey led me over to the small coffee shop.

We got two iced coffees to go and left.

“Shit,” I gasped, slamming into someone as I stepped out the door.

Aubrey smacked into my back.

“Easy,” Vincent’s deep rumble called out, catching me as I stumbled sideways, my coffee sloshing over my hand.

Thank God it wasn’t hot, otherwise I’d be singing a different tune.

“Vincent.” I cleared my throat and tried brushing the coffee off my arm and hand.

“B.” He smirked at me.

“Shit. I need a new coffee. I’ll be right back,” Aubrey called out.

I wasn’t sure if she really did or not, and I didn’t bother to look. I knew she wasn’t a fan of either the lords or kings, so I didn’t blame her for running.

“Here.” Vincent took my elbow and led me to a fountain. “Wash your hand off so it isn’t sticky.” He held my cup as I made quick work of cleaning my hand.

“Do you need a new drink?” He handed me back my coffee and nodded to my half empty container.

“No, it’s fine.”

“Sure?”

I narrowed my eyes at him. “What’s the matter with you?”

He lifted his dark brows at me. “Meaning?”
