Heidi
It’s been a month since he killed him. A month since it’s all been over with. He has nightmares now, not much different than mine. We wake each other up at night, but neither of us cares. We pull the other into our arms, and that’s how we stay the rest of the night. We rely on each other in times of need. We use each other when things become too much, but at the same time, we love each other with all that we have.
“You’re gonna be naked if you don’t stop that,” Trek warns me as I sit in his lap in the main room. The guys are all around, drinking and having a good time.
Even though they raided the two houses, they weren’t done yet. They aren’t done yet. Their main goal is to take down as many traffickers as possible, and there are still so many out there. I know they have plans to go after more.
“I’m not doing anything,” I tell him as I shift in his lap.
“You’re grindin’ your ass against my cock, baby, and you know it.”
“Is that a problem?” I tease him.
“Not if you want to be bent over the pool table,” he tells me. I smirk and shift once more when he groans and grabs my hips to still me.
“We got another hit,” Demon declares to the room.
“Where?”
“A few hours from here. A shipment of girls came in.”
“What the fuck?” I whisper under my breath, but I know how this works. I know how they work. They don’t care who they take or from where. They will grab any girl they can find. Trek’s hands tighten on my waist, and I know this is pissing him off to hear. He’s been struggling with getting better, and hearing about more so close will set him off.
“We hit them,” Trek surprises me when he speaks. I turn my head to look at him as a smile tugs across his face. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” I whisper back.
“We’re gonna hit them. We just need a plan. We’ll work on that and get the basement set back up to house some girls,” Demon says.
“Heidi, you up for helpin’ them out again?” I’m shocked they even have to ask me that. Of course, I’m up for helping with whatever I can.
“Yeah, I am.”
“Good. We’ll have church tomorrow at ten in the mornin’. We’ll decide what to do from there,” Demon tells the room. The guys all walk off, going back to what they were doing when I shift in Trek’s lap to face him. I grab his head in my hands and lean in, kissing the man who has been my everything since the day I got here.
“I don’t want to lose you,” I tell him.
“You’re not gonna lose me. You survived the Trek, baby. You’re mine.”
“You won’t do anything stupid?” I ask as he chuckles.
“I can’t make promises like that. Not after what we’ve both been through,” he replies honestly.
“Then promise you’ll always come back to me.”
“That I can promise. I’ll always be with you, Heidi.”
“We’re supposed to go to your mom’s today,” I remind him. He nods his head. I know he’s unsure of all this. He doesn’t know how to talk about what happened to him, and I understand that. I get the reason why. There are days it’s still hard for me too, but I do it, for him, with him.
“I know. Guess we should be goin’,” he sighs. I stand from his lap and watch as he stands before pulling me back into his arms.
“You mean everything to me, Heidi.”
“You too.”
“Promise you’ll love me when shit is bad,” he says.
“I will always love you, Trek.”
