“Zane, I want to feel you come inside me,” she moans out.

Her sexy voice does me in and I shoot my release into her. I stiffen as it seems to be endless, while she continues to shudder beneath me.

I let her legs drop and roll us over so she’s pressed against my chest. We lay silently, recovering. My hand lazily

runs up and down her arm, as hers moves in circles around my chest. She leans forward and kisses the tattoo that symbolizes my club. I hold her tighter, knowing how difficult that is for her.

After a while, both of us lost in thought, I kiss the top of her hair. “I need you to talk to me now, babe. I need to know what’s going on.”

Just as I say it, my cell rings. I groan reaching it off the floor and answer it. “What?” I yell.

“Meet me at Souls, now,” Kace hisses and hangs up.

Fuck. I meet Harley’s eyes and she knows. “I’ll be back. I’ll lock up, but my gun is in the drawer next to you.”

She pushes on her elbows watching me dress. “I’ll be fine, don’t worry.”

I lean down and grab her hair, kissing her gently. “I love you, babe.”

“I love you, Z.”

I rush out of the house, double checking everything is locked. I park in front of Souls and step inside to look for Kace. He grabs my arm and pulls me to the corner by the door. “We’ve got a problem,” he says.

“What?” I ask, lighting a smoke. He holds up a mask and I grab it from him. “Where the fuck did this come from?” Anger is rolling off of me.

He swallows and looks away before meeting my eyes. “Harper’s car.”

What.The.Fuck.

Chapter 12

Harper

I wake up, still naked and grab my phone. It’s after nine in the morning and Zane still isn’t back. I take my time getting up, grab a shower, and put my clothes back on from yesterday. I look down and realize I need to go to my place for some fresh clothes. I call Zane, but it goes right to his voicemail. Sometimes I wish I didn’t know this world, because the thoughts running through my mind of what he could be doing, give me chills.

I decide to make some breakfast and coffee. Holding out hope that he’ll be home soon. I look around his house and smile. Nothing has changed. It’s older than mine, but still nice. I sit at the table waiting for my toast. A rush of memories flood me. When he bought this house and proudly showed it to me the first time. The sex we’ve had on every surface. The fight we had that drove me away.

It makes me think about everything I still haven’t told him. I was ready to tell him last night, but he had to leave. I’m sure he’ll make me talk today, even though it scares the shit out of me.

I call him a few more times, and finally leave a message telling him I’m going home. I told him to meet me there when he’s done. It’s probably a horrible idea, but at this point, I don’t give a shit.

I dial Ivy’s number and when she picks up, I ask her for a ride. It makes me laugh when she pulls up grinning in my car.

“Thanks,” I say, climbing in the passenger seat.

“No problem, but I do need to get to work. Are you going to stay at your place?”

“Yeah, it’s fine just drop me off.”

We talk for the few minutes it takes to get to my house. She tells me how shitty work is and I tell her nothing. What am I going to say? My life is more fucked up than I can even handle. I’m not about to say anything to her.

When she pulls in my driveway, I give her a quick hug. “I owe you, Ivy.”

“Nah, you’re good. Call when you need your car,” she says, laughing.

I wave as she drives away and head inside. I just get the door open and my stomach drops. My keys fall to the ground as I grab my gun out of my purse. I slowly make my way into the living room, taking in the mess. My furniture is destroyed, cut and torn open. Pictures are broken, smashed to the ground. My kitchen is no better. The cabinets are open, broken glass and papers everywhere.

What the fuck were they looking for? My heart is slamming in my chest as I slowly make my way back to my bedroom. My gun is pointed in front of me, each step feeling like it’s taking me hours to reach the end of the hall. I check the bathroom, but it’s clear, so I push open my bedroom door. Tears fill my eyes when I see the mess. Pictures of my mother torn on the floor, my bed stripped, my clothes all over. I check the closet and under the bed and realize, who ever was here is no longer. I sit on the bed and notice there’s a note.
