Instead of answering, Trey said, “I wonder if she inherited his wrist shot?”

“She shoots exactly like him.”

Next, they showed us out at the club. Where I’d officially met Trey for the first time.

“Nice to meet you, Lexi,” Trey said while he held on tight to my hand.

He’d pretty much refused to let go of it all night.

“Nice to meet you, too, Trey,” I answered back.

It was definitely weird.

And awkward to see yourself on TV.

One thing was for sure—and I swear I didn’t mean to brag—but holy cow, the sexual tension between us?

Holy.

You could cut it with a knife.

The way he was looking at me—and the way I was looking at him—holy cow.

“Oh, boy,” Nikki said as she stuffed popcorn into her mouth.

“You know it,” Gianna commented back. “He wants to eat her alive.”

Trey leaned in and asked, “Do you have a tongue piercing, Lexi?”

What happened next—I was slightly embarrassed about it.

But only because it was right now—at this very second—on national TV.

I’d stuck my tongue out to show Trey my piercing.

Several audible gasps sounded from the room.

“Girl,” Gianna turned to me with a wicked grin on her face, “you’ve got it going on!”

She offered her hand to me for a high-five.

Which I promptly gave her.

“Hey, no shame. If Trey Turner asked about any of my piercings? Straight up, I’d do in two seconds flat.”

“Oh, boy,” Nikki said, still staring at the television.

Everyone laughed.

Including me.

Yeah, that was kind of how I’d felt.

Some guys loved piercings. And Trey had seemed like the kind of guy who did.

Some guys liked tongue piercings.

And Trey was definitely that kind of guy.
