I had a feeling this was an extremely bad idea.
No, I knew this was a very, very bad idea.
“Why not? What’s the worst that could happen?” I said sarcastically but underneath my sassiness, I worried I might not get out of this with my heart intact.
“That’s the spirit,” Beau said, giving me a side hug that felt far too good. “Now we just need to come up with a way to kick off our new relationship. Hmm, how about we each think of one thing we can do to get seen?”
Something popped into my head. “Grab the puppies,” I said, actually excited about my idea. Beau helped me gather all the bundles of joy up and I got him to place them on our chests as we posed for selfies.
Beau smiled his trademark grin and I tried my best not to have a coronary on the spot. When he grabbed my chin and lowered his lips to mine, I nearly died.
“Click it,” he said right against my mouth.
“What?”
He laughed, causing his warm breath to trail down my skin. “The phone, take the picture.”
Oh heavens. My heart was not going to survive.
