We were all amazed after he’d been without a woman for twenty years, that he met Jocelyn and claimed her. She was a good fifteen or more years younger, but that didn’t matter. They loved each other. Her adult daughter was also pregnant and married to my brother, Ace. They were due to have a boy around Thanksgiving. Jocelyn was due in January. We were quickly becoming like Dublin Falls. The place would soon be overrun with babies. I found I didn’t object to the thought. In fact, I wanted to add to the numbers.
After sitting down and chatting for a few minutes with Mad about where this place was, I headed out to the bakery. I needed to see my woman. It had been hours since I dropped her off at work. When I pulled into the parking lot, Tate walked over to me. He’d been standing outside.
“Hey, Ajax, are you just checking in or are you staying?”
“I’m staying. One of you can go back if you want. No use having three of us here.” He nodded and headed toward the building, probably to check and work out if it was he or Alex who would be leaving. I followed him inside.
It was close to lunchtime and with it being the weekend, the place was packed with people and families. Little kids were running all over the place. I could see Jess and Trudie were running around like crazy. Though they made it look effortless, I saw how tired she would be some nights when she got off work. Jessica gave me a smile when she saw me. I wanted to go over and kiss her, but she was waiting on a customer and had a line behind that one. I took a seat instead.
It was close to half an hour or more before it died down enough, she could go to the kitchen. I followed her back there. As soon as we were out of sight, I had her in my arms and pressed up against the counter by the sink. I took her mouth hungrily. She kissed me back just as desperately. When we parted, we both had to take a couple of deep breaths.
“Hello, baby. Did you miss me?”
“No. You were gone? Well, sorry I didn’t notice,” she said with a smirk on her face. I’d found that when she relaxed, Jess had a killer sense of humor. I growled mockingly and grabbed her ass.
“So, you want to play it like that. Wait until I get you home,” I threatened her.
She leaned into me and tugged me down so she could whisper in my ear, “I can’t wait.” Her words had my already hard cock, jerking. God, did I want to be able to take that to mean she’d be letting me do more than kiss and caress her. I wanted to get her naked and sweaty. I wanted her under me, screaming out my name as she came on my cock.
“Don’t say that, Nymph. You’ll give me ideas,” I warned her. She smiled. I saw lust in her eyes. She rubbed her front on mine, which had my cock rubbing her stomach. She had to feel I was hard. I didn’t try to hide it from her. I couldn’t. I was like this the majority of the time when she was around.
“What if I want you to get ideas?” she asked me softly.
“Then just let me know. I’ll give you anything you want, Jessica. You know that, but we have to stop this talk right now before I lose my mind and give those people out there a show.” She laughed and gave me a soft kiss before stepping away.
“Fine. I’ll behave. How was church?”
She knew I couldn’t tell her club business. I did tell her what I’d discussed with Madisen afterward. She got excited and was eager to go tomorrow. After one more kiss, I let her get back to work and I got back to guard duty. I was counting the minutes until she was off. I wanted to see if we could progress things a little bit farther tonight.
We were done and out of there by six. The bakery was open from seven in the morning until four in the afternoon, except on Saturdays, when it was open until five to catch more of the late-day crowd. Trudie waved as she got in the truck with her man. Terry was a welder in town. He was a mountain of a man covered in tats. Looking at him, you’d think he was a biker, but he wasn’t. Still, he was someone I wouldn’t want to fuck with. We’d told him about the threat to the women. He made sure to bring Trudie to work and pick her up every day. He was okay to let us guard them while at work, but he was on the alert once she left. He’d been in the military and knew how to keep her safe.
I got Jessica on the back of my bike. We headed to her apartment after stopping to pick up Chinese. I didn’t want her to cook after her day. Pulling into the parking lot, I remembered the discussion today in church about a house. I needed to find out what she would like.
Once we got inside and she changed into shorts and a tank, we settled down to eat. She was hungry. I frowned. “Baby, did you eat anything today?”
“No, I didn’t have time to pack a lunch this morning or run out to grab anything. This is really good.”
“Damn it, Jessica, next time you’re hungry, tell one of us. We’ll be sure you get something to eat. I don’t want you going hungry. You can take a few minutes to eat, babe.”
She gave me a smile and her face got soft. “I’m used to it, honey.”
“I don’t care. You need to eat more regularly. I should have realized you hadn’t. I’m sorry.”
“There’s nothing for you to apologize for. I’m a big girl.” I slid over and pulled her onto my lap and kissed her lips.
“You’re my girl. I want to take care of you. Now, don’t argue. Eat your food, then let’s go lie down and relax. We can watch a movie if you want.” She nodded. After we were finished and the trash taken out, we went to lie in her bed. She had a television in there. I knew she had to be tired.
I got into my sweats, and we cuddled on the bed. She chose to watch an action movie with me. It was going on nine o’clock when she conked out. I shut off the television and lay there in the dark. I thought about her and what we were moving toward. I’d talk to her in the morning on the drive to Nashville about the house.
