I start to giggle, noticing that one of my tops is still hanging from the chandelier. He follows my line of sight and sees it, starting to laugh as well.

“Not that free,” he says in his mock stern voice. He taps me on the nose. “We need to get out of here if we’re going to catch our flight.”

“I’m tired,” I say. “Let me rest a little bit. You already said I don’t need to pack.”

“Even though you don’t need to pack, you’ll need to get dressed,” he says, his voice taking on more of a warning tone. It’s as if he wants me to be bratty.

I pout and cross my arms over my chest. “Fine. Only because I really want to go to Maui.”

He gets up and heads for the shower, where I plan to join him in a minute. “And don’t worry, you can sleep on the plane.”

Sleep on the plane? It’s as if he doesn’t know me at all. “What? No mile high club?” I chase him into the bathroom as he turns on the shower. I’m not sure whether getting in there together will save time or not. Probably not.

He turns and takes me in his arms, kissing me deeply. “We’ll absolutely join the mile high club,” he promises. His eyes roam my face and he smiles. “How do I deserve such a perfect princess as you?”

I decide to tease him and lean back, sticking out my lip. “Hmmm,” I say. “I’m not really sure. Maybe you should show me you deserve me somehow.”

He bites back a laugh and grabs me around the waist, lifting me into the shower with him. “Oh, I’ll show you, all right, you little brat.”

And I know he will. Always and forever, no matter how bratty I am, he’ll always treat me like his little princess and he’ll always be my king.
