I nod, then rub my forehead. “It’ll be fine. I can deal with it for you, Hold.”

“You already had an issue in Hawaii.” Nick reminds.

“Yeah, with anex. So if I take care of Holden’s knowing that she’s not interested, doesn’t know me, then I can just steer her away. It’ll be fine. Sophie will never know what’s going on.” I plan. “It’s the least I can do, man. You don’t need the distraction and you have a shit poker face. She’ll know if something is up.”

Roman looks at his phone and lets out a string of curses that definitely don’t need a caption to be understood. He starts to squeeze his phone, then stops. “Neal is here.”

“Excuse me?” Nick snorts. “What the fuck is happening?!”

A damn good question.

SOPHIE

Ilaugh with Valerie, Danny, and Bailey. All of us are in some stage of drunk, and I don’t know if I’m more shocked that Danny seems to be doing the best or that Valerie is so sloshed she kicked off her heels despite her first rule of going out being if she can’t walk in her heels, she just doesn’t move until she can.

“I’m serious!” Danny continues. “That bitch tried to say that I was out of line because she didn’t see a flagrant foul. My son would have recognized it and he’s still working on fucking object permanence.”

I laugh loudly, shoving the silly half veil from my face. I see my mom and she looks us over as I give her a ridiculous smile. She shakes her head. “Looks like you girls have had a good time.”

“Danny got us free drinks all night by beating the bartender in an arm-wrestling match. Three times straight.” I laugh.

“His face!” Valerie says, clutching her middle. She’s complained about cramps from laughing too hard multiple times.

“Ugh. Bed. Please.” Bailey begs.

“We got this. Talk to your momma.” Danny says.

They half carry Bailey to the elevator and I motion to my little white dress and veil. “I think this will do.”

My mom laughs. “In Vegas maybe, not here. Remember your dress?”

I stumble as I try to picture it, then bounce. “Yes! I can’t wait.”

“About time we see some excitement for the wedding.”

Wedding. Where are my husbands? I look around. “Did the guys already come back?”

“I don’t know, honey. We’re just checking in.”

“It’s after one in the morning,” I say.

“It’s almost three.” Mom corrects me, guiding me to the elevator. “Let’s get some water into you, some food, and we’re going to get a head start on the hangover cure.”

“More alcohol?” I guess.

She pats my head. “You are my child. I knew it. Now tell me about your men.”

“They’re denying me sex.” I huff. “And kisses. One more day to kiss them and then I get a whole lot of nothing until the wedding.”

“Poor thing.”

“It’s been five days since any of them have slept with me and that’s way too long. I have four of them! I should be getting laid at least daily.” I cross my arms and pout. “They want it to be special or something.”

“Well, that’s sweet, honey. You should be happy about that.”

I snort, then catch my foot on the edge of the rug and face plant on the floor. I groan and my mom squeaks. “Sophie!”

I hear a door open, then Roman sticks his head out. I groan as I roll over on the floor. “The carpet tastes gross.”
