They talk to each other as I go get a shower and consider what our wedding is going to look like. Even in my fantasies, I don’t see anything but a fantasy because that’s what I’m getting by marrying these four men.

Hmm, maybe some little white trees could be in the reception hall. To sell the fairy-tale theme.

“Look at me. Finally making choices.” I tell my reflection as I pull on a dress. “Like a real bride.”

NICK

Holden books the reception hall and Sophie starts making a list of people. Gunner keeps flagging things in décor and that leaves me to think about the menu. Until Roman gets home. Every day, I swear he gets more exhausted.

Sophie lets her pen drop and goes to him, kissing him softly and purring Italian against his lips. He hugs her tightly and kisses the top of her head. When he jumps and Sophie gives a naughty smile, I’m sure she’s grabbed his ass.

“How was your day?”

“Long.” He grumbles, then notices all of us at the table, going through magazines, except the ones that Sophie put to the side. “And it looks like it’s getting longer.”

“Don’t you worry,” She says. “I ordered dinner and you can rest for a while, okay?”

He rubs the back of his neck. “I don’t want to be left out of the planning.”

“And I don’t want you overworking.” She puts her hands on her hips. “Aren’t you guys supposed to obeyme? I thought I was the bride.”

“Very funny considering the incentive we had to provide to get you to make choices.” Gunner smirks as he flips the pages in the magazine.

Sophie shoots him a dirty look before Roman turns her chin. He arches an eyebrow and she bites her lip. “You get incentive too. Or to provide it, or however, it works.”

He nods and kisses her temple. “Give me something to do, Bambina.”

“You can make me come.” She offers.

Roman rolls his eyes, but I see the hint of a smile on his lips. Sophie is one in a million because no one can break Roman’s bad moods that quickly. He sits down with us and we explain what we have going on.

Roman picks up some of the magazines and looks at the designs, looks at the venue we selected, and nods, glad that it’s suitable no matter the weather – as predicted, and then he starts going through the décor.

We look at a number of things, and talk as Sophie sits on Roman’s lap, working on the guest list. When Holden finishes his, he hands it over and Sophie keeps adding, crossing out names as she goes.

Once we get done with the guest lists, other than Roman who continues whispering things in Sophie’s ear, we start plating dinner.

Sophie looks exhausted, and I know it’s not from the sex earlier. I think it’s the stress. We’ve made huge amounts of progress, but we still have to check out some vendors, find someone to make the RSVP letters, send them out – which means getting addresses – and … well, everything else.

No one said planning a wedding would be easy.

“You should take some time off.” Gunner murmurs, before stuffing his face with food.

Sophie looks up at him and Roman wraps an arm around her waist as if it’s necessary to keep her in place. She looks around the table, taking us all in. I was thinking about it earlier, but I didn’t dare say it. I wouldn’t suggest that when she’s already had so many questions about whether she wants to work.

She chews her lip and shakes her head. “No. I have to save up my time off for the wedding.”

“It’s just so much to accomplish, even more, intense when you only have weekends to meet with vendors and test things, look at things, and so on.”

“We can do some things on our time.” Roman insists. “This isn’t just Sophie’s wedding. It’s ours too. I can always double-check flower arrangements and take care of that.”

“I can handle the baker, at least get the ball rolling so all you have to worry about is the tasting,” Gunner says.

“And I can handle getting the addresses for all our guests.” Holden shrugs. “Should be easy enough and I can do that between work things, or while waiting for things to be shipped.”

Sophie looks between us and relaxes. I reach over and take her hand. “We’re all in this together, sweetheart. All we need is to make a plan.”

“And keep to it.” She says. “Which means one of you needs to make sure that I don’t manage to distract every meeting.”
