It’s my turn to smile.

My brother rolls his eyes. “We need to know how to get information from someone without them really knowing they’re giving information.”

“Depends on the personality.”

“Narcissistic, entitled, dick-ish.” Hunter says. “And before you accuse me, it’s someone else.”

“Get the person talking about themselves. People like to share and it makes them like you more. Alcohol loosens tongues, so do distractions. Ask for a small favor, maybe pretend you have an issue related to the stuff you want to know and see if he’ll give you advice. I could give you a whole list.”

“Please do.”

“But personality is important here. If something doesn’t work, don’t keep pushing. I’m serious. It can backfire fast. Try those basics. They work more often than not. Good luck.”

“Thank you, sweetheart. I’ll pay you back with a nice dinner and more soon.”

“Or you can try that conversation tactic, I mentioned before,” She says. “Bye.”

With that, she’s gone. Hunter nods to me, not put off at all by Valerie’s dismissal. “We have the tools, let’s make this shit work and earn ourselves some free time.”

“You actually want to pursue Valerie when you know I like her?”

“I could ask you the same.” He shrugs. “But I did happen to bring up giving her what her bestie has and she’s mentioned it a few times.”

I think that over as I get ready for the club. Sharing Valerie with my brother and Lief, all of us enjoying her, touching her, fucking her … Hunter has certainly had worse ideas.

VALERIE

The intercom by my door buzzes after I hang up with Hunter. At least he turned down his flirting in front of his brother. And Chase is tempting as hell. If it’s possible at all, I’ll be on that cruise with him this weekend.

“Hello?” I ask after pressing the button.

“We have unfinished business, Valerie.” Lief’s husky voice teases me even over the crackling speaker.

I shiver and pinch myself to make sure this is real. Yup. Pinching hurts. Lief is downstairs. I buzz him up instead of bothering with teasing. I unlock my door open it, and by the time I step out, I see him stalking down the hallway towards me.

Putting a hand on my hip, I arch an eyebrow. “You didn’t even kiss me goodbye when you dropped me off here yesterday.”

“I wouldn’t have left.” He says before tipping my chin up and kissing me hard.

So much for resisting him. I melt against his mouth, clutching his shirt as he picks me up, wraps me around him, and walks me into my apartment. He shuts the door behind him and continues kissing me, feasting on my mouth, licking and nipping across my jaw, then biting my throat again.

“Oh.” I moan, eyes fluttering shut

“You have many post-it notes.”

I look around and nod. “I forget things easily.”

He drops me on my bed and looks me over. “Pants.”

“Useless inside.” I don’t care that I only have on a tank top and panties. It’s not like I was planning for company. And it’s not like Lief is complaining. I stretch on my bed, flashing more skin as I look Lief over. “So, unfinished business?”

“Yes.” But he just keeps watching. “If you’re still interested.”

“I think you need to use those words you know to tell me what I’m in for.” As if I don’t know exactly what he wants, exactly what he has planned.

“I’ve made you wait twice now.” He gets on his knees on the bed, angling himself over me. “I’m not going to draw it out any more.”

I put my foot on his chest, holding him in place. “My house my rules. Use your words.”
