He turned, ready to congratulate his mate on her courage. Instead, he heard a strangled cry, and he saw her grappling with someone. He thought some of the security guys were still alive for a few seconds.
Impossible!
“I’m impressed, Rux,” Griffin’s smooth, confident voice rang out across the beach. “That was quite a show.”
Rux paced forward, trying not to show how sore and tired he was. His eyes cleared, and he saw that Griffin had an arm around Dana’s throat and his other hand held a gun that he pressed against Dana’s temple.
Her eyes were wide with fear, and she trembled in Griffin’s grasp. Rux felt determination rising inside him.
It doesn’t matter how many men I have to fight. I won’t lose anyone else I love. I will protect her!
A strength he had never known had flooded him. Things might look bad, but he would break the sky itself to rescue Dana. All he had to do was wait for the right moment to make his move.
He shifted back to his human shape, staring Griffin down with the eyes of a true predator.
This is it. I have to take him out.
