Chapter 1 Karly
Fucking hell.A scream lodged in the back of my throat, desperately wanting to break free, as Alek thrust into me once more, tipping me over the edge into oblivion. Bliss hits me like a burning hot tsunami of waves, practically knocking me off my feet. I gripped the tray table, trying my hardest not to tumble to the ground. I didn’t want to lose any of his inches as pleasure screamed through my system. There was something incredible about Alek. He wasn’t just tall, dark, and handsome as fuck with blue eyes that pierced through my soul, he was also charismatic and powerful as well. That was why innocent flirting always ended up like this. Me bent over with him behind me. I could not get enough of his taut, muscular body. Especially when he had me fizzing with delight like this.
I pushed up, pressing my back against him before I finally spun around to crash my lips to his. He was right, joining the mile high club was a good idea. I wasn’t sure why I doubted this man, there wasn’t a thing he didn’t know about sex.
“I should have trusted you,” I gasped needily as I pushed him back into the reclining seat. “The Gem Liquor Private Jet is very sexy. You’re a lucky bastard to have access to it.”
He mumbled something about needing more of me, a request I was more than willing to comply with. With the motion of the plane descending at long last, I climbed over him, straddling him. I rode him hungrily, greedily, needing to fully take advantage of having him in my arms. It wasn’t often I could have the CEO of Gemini Liquor and alpha of the Gemini Clan, so I needed to savor every second.
“You are on fire,” Alek groaned as his hands skated up my body until he cupped my breasts, tugging and teasing my nipples, coaxing pleasure out of me. “Fuck, Karly…so wet, so tight…”
“All for you,” I cried out as I tossed my ashy blonde hair over my shoulders, arching my back as I rolled my hips, riding him hard and fast because I couldn’t get enough. “You are the only one who turns me on like this…”
Actually, that was true. Alek and I had never been in a relationship, but we’d been screwing for years purely because it was hot as hell. Physically, we couldn’t get enough of one another, a sensation that developed over time. We’d grown up together, gone to the same high school, socialized in the same circles because our parents and siblings were friends. The sex just kind of came along with time, and thank fuck, because it was so much! No other man made me feel so explosive.
That was how we knew how to press the right buttons for one another and hit all the right spots. It was as easy as breathing and as hot as burning in hell, because we knew each other as well as we knew ourselves. The second time the orgasm swirled through my flushed, sweaty body and exploded in the pit of my stomach, Alek lost his shit too. We climaxed together, screaming and crying out at the same time, kissing each other to swallow up one another’s yells, which felt phenomenal. I wasn’t just sated, I was in heaven. Simultaneously soaring high and drowning in pleasure.
“We are just about to touch down…” the flight attendant’s voice broke through the privacy partition we had up, not that it was doing us much good. Everyone could hear exactly what was going on. No one was bothered, though, because what could they do? This was Alek’s private plane, and he could do whatever the hell he wanted on it. I was just lucky that, right now, he wanted to do me.
“Suppose we better get dressed, then,” I chuckled as I reached down to grab my underwear off the floor. “Oh my God, Alek, you shredded my panties!”
He tossed his head back and laughed at the sight of my ripped lace. “That’s not going to cover anything, is it?” Without missing a beat, he reached up, opened the overhead compartment, and pulled out a small clear bag. “A toiletry bag. You should find everything you need in there.”
“Panties, wipes, a tooth brush?” I gave him a knowing look. “Really? Do you really have a stack of these?”
“I wouldn’t say a stack,” he chuckled, while offering me a playful one-shouldered shrug. “But you never can be too careful.”
I was torn. As much as I wanted to call him out on how insane this was, I also really needed this pack right now—the panties at least—so I accepted it gratefully and pulled on the plain white cotton underwear. Not my usual choice, but it definitely beat nothing. After all, I had been wearing a short tight grey dress that could easily reveal everything. I was happy to reveal all to Alek, but not the world.
Alek barely had his shirt buttoned all the way up before he pulled me into his arms. He buckled me in and rested my head on his muscular chest. The sound of his racing heartbeat made my heart fucking sing. A smile spread across my face as the plane hit the ground and taxied, because I still felt incredible. That was utterly phenomenal, I knew it would be, but I was going to be thinking about that for a long time.
“Are you ready for this?” Alek asked me, causing me to finally pull my head up off his chest so I could get a glimpse of those piercing blue eyes of his. “The Astro Games. It’s going to be intense.”
“Hey, I’m just reporting on the games, remember?” I teased him. “You are the one taking part, representing our Gemini Clan. How are you feeling about it?”
Alek shrugged, playing it down like I knew he would. “You know me, I’m the best bear shifter around. Plus, the Geminis are the largest clan around. I’m not worried. I’m going to win. It won’t be too long before I’m the Bear King.”
That hit me hard. Harder than I was expecting actually. Because winning the Astro Games wouldn’t just put him in line for being Bear King, it would also seal his fate as the future husband of King Mobius’s daughter, Azariyah. I’d always known that was something Alek wanted, as he never kept his ambitions deep inside. We all knew what he aimed for in life, I guess I just hadn’t anticipated how I would feel when we actually got there…
“Anyway, Karly,” Alek continued, not sensing my inner turmoil at all, which was probably for the best. I wasn’t supposed to have any feelings either way for Alek. It was all just physical. “Don’t forget to mention Gemini Liquor a lot in your coverage of the games.”
“You don’t exactly need the publicity,” I replied, rolling my eyes playfully. “Gemini Liquor is doing just fine.”
He knotted my hair up in his fingers and turned my head to face him. The fire burning in his eyes turned my stomach to jelly all over again. “It can’t hurt, though, can it? Especially from the star of the Morning Show. You know everyone adores hearing from you.”
Then he crashed his lips to mine, kissing me passionately. I was putty in his hands, unable to resist the taste of his lips and tongue. I could have quite happily forgone the Astro Games, even if the report was going to be one of the biggest of my career, just to sit here like this, all intertwined with Alek, kissing him like there was no tomorrow. Unfortunately, I already knew he wouldn’t do the same thing. Not when he had Azariyah in his sights. Now all he needed to do was beat out the other twenty-five applicants in the three rounds of the Astro Games, and she would be his.
Eventually, way too quickly for my liking, Alek rose to his feet and gathered up his things to leave the plane. This was the part I was starting to like less and less. The leaving one another after we’d been intimate. Where that had come from, I wasn’t sure. It had never bothered me in the past because I was always in a hurry to go as well, but these days I had an annoying panging sensation within me. I guess I had to accept that I wanted more, which was dumb because that would never happen. I wasn’t a princess; I couldn’t advance his career to the level he needed. Only with what I said in the news, which wasn’t enough.
“Idiot,” I muttered to myself as I pulled my compact mirror out of my bag to check my makeup, which, of course, needed fixing. How could it not after that? “You came here to focus on the games, nothing more. To continue being the queen of morning TV.”
That was true, wasn’t it? I’d told myself I wouldn’t let anything get in my way, even when I agreed to the ride on Alek’s private jet. I guess it was easy for me to think we would behave because it wasn’t just us on the flight. My co-worker, Ben, and Lance, the other Gemini competitor, has also come along, but they had left us way too quickly. As soon as the flirting began, I should have known I was on the verge of losing control. I should have stopped myself before it got too far. Damn me and my lack of will power.
“Well, I guess I don’t need to ask what happened in here,” Ben teased as he slipped past the partition. “My bear nose is picking up a distinct scent of sex.”
I rolled my eyes and chuckled with my friend, pushing all those awkward feelings down. “You didn’t have to come in, you know. I was just on my way out.”
