“I hate leaving you.” My heart leaps a little.
“I don’t want you to go either,” I tell him before his mouth crashes over mine. His kiss is heated and everything I could ever want. Then he pulls away and nods toward the store. I walk in to find Christy tossing boxes around.
“What’s wrong with you?” I ask her.
“I want a relationship like yours.” I laugh a little.
“It’s not that easy,” I tell her.
“I mean it. I see Rodney every day at the club. I’m only with him. I don’t get it,” she whines.
“Maybe you just don’t click outside the club. I thought that with Justice until we were forced to spend time together. Maybe ask him out,” I tell her. She groans and sets more bath salts on the counter as I giggle slightly.
“You don’t think that’s weird? Asking him out?”
“No. Not if it’s something you really think you want,” I tell her.
“I do want it. I’m just not sure how to go about it.”
“Well, you forced me to tell Justice, so now I’m forcing you to tell Rodney how you feel. You might be surprised at what he says,” I remind her. Not long ago, it was Justice and me in this situation.
“She had to force you, huh?” I hear his deep voice as it thunders through the building. I turn around quickly to see Justice standing in the doorway, looking as perfect as ever. He strolls over with a smile before stepping closer and pulling me into his arms.
“Thought you had a meeting,” I ask when he drops a quick kiss to my lips.
“I do. I was coming to say bye. Who are you talking about anyway, Rodney?” he asks as I nod my head.
“Christy wants more from him,” I tell him.
“Then talk to him,” he suggests.
“He’s your best friend. You know his life revolves around the club,” she says softly.
“Just because he’s there a lot doesn’t mean he wants to spend his time alone. Yes, he does a lot for the club, but it isn’t his whole life,” Justice tells her. “Besides, I was lost in that life for a long time, and look what I found,” he leans down to kiss me once more.
“You two make me sick,” she giggles.
