Chapter Twenty-Six

Skylar

We had the best night we’d ever had last night. Everything was perfect. He tied my wrists above my head with his tie and took his time with me. I don’t think I could forget last night if I tried.

Now we sit here, with him on edge.

“Can you stop?” I ask him as his knee bounces up and down.

“I hate waiting. It makes me insane,” he says, making me giggle. He’s impatient, and I understand.

“You’re so cute when you’re like this,” I tell him. His knee stops as he turns to look at me.

“You know I love you, right?”

“I love you too.”

Before long, everything is over, and we’re walking out of the courthouse married. I can’t believe I’m actually married and to Justice at that. I never saw my life going in this direction. I never thought he would want to marry me either, but here we are.

I couldn’t be happier as we walked out of the courthouse hand in hand.

“Do you know how happy you make me?” he asks. I stop walking and step in front of him to face him, grabbing his face in my hands.

“You make me happy too. More than you’ll ever know.” He leans in and presses his lips to mine, and I sigh, savoring everything that is Justice. The way he makes my heart beat faster, how he holds me, cares for me.

When he pulls back, I can’t stop staring into those gorgeous brown eyes. He’s everything I could have wanted and more. He’s everything to me.

“Do you remember the first time you came into the club? You were so shy and closed off,” he tells me.

“I was scared to death being that open,” I tell him.

“You were. I remember you standing there facing the wall. I thought, God, I bet she’s beautiful,” he confesses, causing me to smile.

“I was nervous,” I admit.

“I know you were, but you did great. And look at you now. You’re perfect,” he tells me, making my heart soar. I can’t believe the first time I was with him was at the club. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have him by my side and now to call him my husband.

“You made me realize who I was,” I tell him truthfully. He opened up a part of me I didn’t think he could. I never thought I’d trust anyone again if I'm honest. I didn’t think I had it in me, and then Justice came along and ripped down every wall I had built up. He made me realize just how much I needed someone in my life and that someone was him.

“Who are you, Skylar?” he asks.

“I’m Skylar Sinner.”

“Goddamn right you are,” he says before pulling me back into his arms.

Justice wraps his arm around me as we walk away from the courthouse married. I can’t believe we’re actually married. It all feels surreal to me. Like a fairy tale come true, but I know it isn’t. I know there’s still lingering danger and things we need to handle and discuss, but for now, I’m content.

“Are you happy?”

“More than I should be,” I tell him.

“I’m glad. I want nothing more than to make you happy, Sky. You know that, right?” he asks. I nod my head as he wraps his arm around my shoulder and pulls me into his side. We walk along just taking time together. I love being with him. There’s always a calmness about being around Justice I crave.

Once we reach my shop, he stops and looks down at me.

“As much as I want to keep you all to myself, I know you have work to do,” he says, cupping my face in his hands.

“And you have a meeting,” I remind him. He nods his head.
