ChapterFifteen
Acaress of fur tickled Nox’s nose and sharp points pricked his back before falling still. Then a rhythmic velvet thrum vibrated the air. Similar to the Anubis, but much, much smaller.
He opened his eyes, and the cat feathered his nose with its tail, then turned and rubbed its head against his cheek.
Cat hair stuck to his lip.
The cat sitting between his shoulders licked Nox’s hair. A third cat nibbled a line up his leg.
Luca lifted his head. Just that small movement had Nox’s cock threatening to harden again.
“Why are there cats staring at us?” Luca tried to sit up. He grunted. “Uh, do you think you could move? You’re kinda heavy.”
No matter how much Nox knew he needed to move, he couldn’t. He tightened his hold on Luca and pressed his face against the back of his neck.
“Nox…”
He hummed against Luca’s neck.
“Nox… I really…”
He pinched a bit of flesh between his teeth.
“Nox, I really got to pee.” Luca turned his head enough to reveal his smile. “Please.”
“Sorry.”
“Don’t be sorry. I’d lie here all night with you, but I really, really have to go.”
Nox rolled to the side. The cat on his back let out a small protest before jumping into the leaves. They formed a semi-circle around Nox while Luca staggered to his feet and walked over to the bushes.
Dirt and leaves stuck to his legs, cum made a dried trail between his ass cheeks.
Luca finished and returned. “Thanks, I feel much better now.”
Nox ran his touch over the top of Luca’s feet, to his ankle, calf, inching closer until he kneeled in front of him. Rich golden-brown skin, dark eyes, darker hair, highlighted in orange by the setting sun. Most of all, the gentleness. It bled from Luca as strong as the scent of sex. Nox wrapped his arms around Luca and pressed his cheek against his torso.
“How do you feel?” Luca petted Nox’s head.
Nox should have asked Luca that question. He wore the fading bruises, the scratches, the bite marks Nox had left behind. Marks Nox should have been ashamed for leaving but wasn’t.
“Talk to me, please.”
“I don’t know.”
“Better? Worse?” Luca said the last word with apprehension.
“Different.” He exhaled against Luca’s skin. “Whole?”
The woods, the scent of animals and earth, and Luca. How he’d run, and the Anubis had chased him. Flashes of memory that didn’t belong to Nox but the Anubis willingly shared. All of it broken until Nox caught Luca, pinning him, fucking him, filling him. Those shined as bright as if it had been him.
But he knew it wasn’t. It had beenthem.
And now that Nox shared the same thoughts as the Anubis, he saw what he’d let Isaiah do in a whole other light.
Even if his intentions were genuine, he would have taken something that didn’t belong to Nox.
A creature who belonged to Luca.
