A hand closed over his. “It will be okay.”

“It’s the take off. It’s always the take off.” The plane tilted, and a shudder ran through the craft. “Fuck.” Reese gripped Seung’s hand.

At least she didn’t laugh at him.

The engines quieted, and the plane leveled, moving so smoothly Reese had to look out the window to make sure they were airborne.

He realized he still held Seung’s hand and let go. “Sorry.”

“No need to apologize.”

A low snicker caught Reese’s attention. Johnathan’s betas grinned at him, flashing sharp teeth, another spread his knees showing off the outline of his dick crawling over his thigh.

Reese’s cheeks burned hot enough to make his eyes water.

He drank some of his coffee. Unwrapped his biscuit and took a small bite. He put it back…

The betas spoke in low voices. And Reese was sure one of them made a sound like a purr.

Don’t look. Don’t look.

The same one with the hard-on held his hand curled in front of his mouth and made a bulge in his cheek with his tongue.

What the hell was he…

It dawned on Reese the guy was imitating sucking a dick.

Reese jerked his gaze away.

“You okay?” Johnathan said.

Reese nodded. “Yeah.” His voice squeaked. “Fine, just…” He held up his cup of coffee. “I’m good, good… coffee’s good. A bit suggesti—I mean strong.” Reese winced.

Johnathan slowly turned in his seat and the three betas went back to talking like nothing had happened while the delta sat off to the side reading. “I need to re-brief my men regarding our current agenda. I’ll be back in a bit.” Johnathan jerked his chin at the rear of the plane. The three betas were slow to exit their seats.

Johnathan led the way and the last one in line spoke as he walked backward. “Somecreamin that will make that coffee tasteloadsbetter.” He gripped the bulge in his crotch before falling back into line without missing a step.

Seung rolled her eyes. “Ignore them. Mah betas can be the epitome of male toxicity.”

“Easier said than done.” Especially since Reese had to fight not to watch them disappear to the back.

The pockets on the side of his chair were empty. So were the ones on Seung’s.

“I don’t suppose you know where they keep the magazines.”

Seung laughed a little. “Mah betas don’t normally read either.”

“Then what do they do when they’re bor—”

Seung raised her eyebrows.

“Oh.” Reese coughed. “Yeah, I should have guessed.” Didn’t Seung say egg-bearing females chose them over Alphas because of theirstamina?

Hairs on the back of Reese’s neck stood. He turned.

The average-built delta from Johnathan’s group stood a few feet away, holding out a paperback. “Here. Not sure if it’s your type of book, but I thought it was good.”

“Don’t you want to read it?”
